Very basic wrtting style. (0 more)
A must read story poorly written.

The prose really didn't draw me in I got more emotionally involved in the afterword than the book itself......

Awesome book! Stunning prose from a genius writer who managed to weave together thought-provoking themes masterfully. The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't enjoy all the novellas as they were genres I wouldn't normally go for.

This tale is based on Alaskan folklore, and is rewritten in terrifying, yet beautiful prose. The characters were created with depth and with intricate humanity. This story will capture and hold you through its entirety, and leave you wanting more.

Patti Smith | 2016 | Biography

Book Favorite

"“M Train” will take you in and out of dreamscapes and reality and remembrances with prose so spare and matter of fact that it delivers a much bigger emotional punch. Patti Smith doesn’t need to embellish; she just tells her stories…and her stories are incredible."

"Honestly, I could choose anything by Orwell. I read him as a teen and loved him. That advice of his about good prose being like a window pane? I always have that in the back of my mind. It jibes with how I instinctively feel about writing. "

"A classic for a reason. My mind was warped into a new shape by her prose and it will never be the same again. The metaphysics she presents in the book are enacted in a way that allowed me to begin to understand that corner of philosophy."
