All I can say after reading this is that I am glad that Stephen King mainly wrote psychological horror and thrillers instead of fantasy.

Excellent narration, beautiful story and complex character development, and a surprising twist near the end of the book.

This book deals with some heavy psychological stuff, and really got me thinking. I was very involved in the characters lives and development, and I was very satisfied with the way the story ended. As long as you can handle some slightly intense scenes, any fan of thrillers and psychological stories will enjoy this book!

There have been some new voices in crime fiction, including Jane Harper (The Dry), soon to be a feature film by Reece Witherspoon, and some veteran writers like John Grisham (Camino Island).

And if you're still hungering for psychological thrillers, you may be sated with JP Delany's The Girl Before.

Without doubt, there has been some big releases for lovers of all the main crime fiction genres.

Renny Harlin recommended Rosemary's Baby (1968) in Movies (curated)

Rosemary's Baby (1968)
Rosemary's Baby (1968)
1968 | Classics, Horror, Mystery

"I would say that one of the most profound memories was when my mother – who was film fanatic and loved thrillers – took me to see Rosemary’s Baby when I was nine years old. The film had a huge impact on me and, of course, scared the shit out me! I certainly wouldn’t take my 10-year-old to see Rosemary’s Baby. “It is a masterpiece in terms of the way it uses the language of movies and it directed me towards Hitchcock and that kind of visual storytelling, and thrillers in general – or maybe more psychological thrillers. So that was my first and most memorable movie. It was the psychological fear and oddness, the oddness of the characters; I remember I didn’t even understand it all when I first saw it. Visually there were so many things that I hadn’t seen before that have stayed with me."

Good characters
Full of twists and turns
Really enjoyed this book after it was recommended by a friend. As the plot develops, it becomes more believable and the characters start to really come to life. It has become a book I would recommend to anyone wanting to try psychological thrillers.

Good one
This movie was intense. That acting was great. Russell Crowe really played the part of a psychopath well. The cinematography was well done and the story was a nail biting, edge of your seat thrill ride. There were more than a couple of "holy crap!" moments. If you're into psychological thrillers you'll really enjoy this one. REALLY worth a watch!

Great, no frills British psychological drama
It's rare to find psychological thrillers that aren't over the top. Instead of bodies piling up, this entire novel premises around one particular child abduction and how the people around were affected. The widow of the alleged criminal is a completely flawed person, battling her own demons whilst trying to live with him and the press / police constantly hounding her. She is by far imperfect. If I say anymore it may reveal too much. Looking forward to see this on the small screen.

American Psycho (2000)

Never looked at business cards the same again.
American Psycho is one of the best Psychological Thrillers, Black Comedies, and Horror movies to date. Christian Bale plays Patrick Bateman so well that even though he is a psychopath you just can't help but like the guy even though you kind of want to punch him in the face at the same time.

Definitely, add this to your need to watch list.
