Leah (: (569 KP) rated The Girl on Camera in Books

I enjoyed this book particularly the questions it raises about human nature and how we will behave and react in certain situations.
From the description it was easy to guess part of the stories big reveal, however the how we get there and what was going on with each person.
I can’t say I ever particularly warmed to Rory as a character but I’m not sure why. She just seemed quite whiny and overall just average.
I would have liked more of a look at the psychology behind the characters and why they acted the way they did. I also felt the ending was a bit rushed with trying to recap and finish every story.

This thriller is completely gripping. Ellie was a golden girl, the apple of her motherÕs eye and only fifteen years old when she disappeared without a trace. Ten years later her mother, Laurel still has unanswered questions when she meets a man who sweeps her off her feet. Then she meets his daughter, the image of her lost Ellie, and Lauren must begin to unravel the mystery of what happened.
JewellÕs drama unfolds quickly and uses a smattering of dramatic irony, so that you figure out the truth before Laurel, making you squirm in your comfy reading spots as you read on. This is a pacy, dark, tense story, totally compelling until the very last word.

Amazing story. (1 more)
Beautiful lesson
A beautifully done addition to the Toy Story saga.
You always worry when they dig up old property to make a new film. Will they do it justice? Will they be true to the original? Is there really a need for another movie? Toy Story answers all these questions with a resounding YES! The original toys, along with some new additions, are brought back for a new adventure that hits all the notes that you love about the series. The laughs are there, as are the tears. A beautiful new chapter is added to the toys' saga as is the beautiful underlying lessons and morals of the story. Truly well done.

Elli H Burton (1288 KP) rated A Mother's Secret in Books

Another sweet one, another abrupt end
The endings of Dilly Court's books seem to just end with questions left unanswered. It can be left quite easily (as they have done, annoyingly) however, they have been left in a way they can also have a sequel written without much scrambling. I'm a romantic so these kind of books I love completely, it ticks the boxes I'm looking for and it also had a twist that left me considering not sleeping last night so I could finish it!
Gisell Middleton (189 KP) rated A Bad Day for Sunshine in Books

This is a fantastic novel! The well rounded characters, interest backgrounds and fast pace make for a can’t-put-down page turner. I enjoyed the several layers to each sub-plot and how certain people/events were connected and some were not. It takes a skilled writer to be aware of how much to include as well as how much to omit. This author is amazing! Most of the questions we, the reader, start out with in this novel are answered by the end in a way that gives us the satisfaction of “an ending” but leave enough hanging so that we are intrigued by the possibilities and will be waiting for the next installment. Great book!
