Ahhh part of the Rat pack in this great teen love story. Ringwald and Hall are funny and dramatic in this love story of a girl who wants nothing more than the hottest guy in school and Hall as the extreme king of the nerds who really wants to to be popular and be noticed. It kind of has a Cinderella kind of feel to it with out the glass slipper. This directors movies is a lot of what I grew up on. Sixteen candles id full love laughs and crazy family fun.

Fantastically Enjoyable Heist Movie

Danny Ocean (Clooney) is released from jail on parole, and heads straight off to rob the un-robbable : not one, but three Vegas casinos. The casinos are, of course, owned by the nastiest bloke in town (Garcia), who coincidentaly - or maybe not - is the new man-in-the-life of Clooney's ex-wife (Roberts).

Clever plot, nicely done.

Clooney, Pitt, Damon and Garcia are excellent, as usual. Highly dubious British accent from Don Cheadle, but y'know were 'e's comin' from.
And you know where this film is going, right from the start. There are no surprises, but who cares?

Lacks the Rat Pack charisma of the original for purists, but has enough merit to stand on it's own and should be enjoyed as an 'also' rather than an 'instead of'.

Saturday Detention

The story of a group of kids from different cliques in high school are sent for various different reasons to Saturday detention. They are tasked with writing an essay to explain why they are there. During the movie we find out why each of the individuals have been punished. Each clique is reprsented in this movie. The Jock (Estevez) The popular one (ringwald) The Nerd (Hall) The basket case (sheedy) and last but not least the trouble maker (Nelson) the movie shows us forms of peer pressure and what it is like to try and survive in a difficult high school and difficult life at home. The movie is a drama and shows us that every person has a weakness and is vunerable to emotion. Fun note the lead song by Simple Minds was supposed to be a Billy Idol song but, he turned it down.
