Rolling Stone's 272nd greatest album of all time
If I had to put money on it, I would have said Sleater-Kinney were a Celtic rock band, along the lines of Runrig or Wolfstone. I was pleasantly surprised to find they're an all-girl punk band. This was right up my street and similar to other bands I had listened to as part of this list - the likes of "X" and Liz Phair. Very angry, angsty and fast and raw. Great album.

Interesting
A decent Netflix film part thriller mainly drama as a journalist for a New York based magazine is pursued for her account of an incidental that happened at her university years ago.
It's a good story based on a best selling book. Quite raw and gritty at times but also maybe has too many scenes around fitting in with the social elite and very rich. Didn't really deliver the ending it felt it was building up to.

Iconic album
Featuring the huge hit Insane in the brain. My favourite track is actually Lick a shot. The mix of fast beats, deep bass and aggressive vocals with lyrics you can clearly make out make this one of the best rap albums around. The similar themes of the tracks also mean they blend together perfectly from one track to the next. If you like Rap with deep bass you have to get this album. It's a classic.

"My personal theory is that the Hays Code didn’t just forbid certain behaviors and images, it also subtly suggested the way that they might one day be allowable. Eventually filmmakers and studios figured out it wasn’t so much that you absolutely couldn’t show homosexuality, drug use, prostitution, child abuse, and mass murder. They just couldn’t seem fun. Or even funny. John Waters joyfully violates this deeper unspoken code. That’s why his films, especially Female Trouble, burn with the raw power of a Public Enemy or Baby Face."

"There aren’t many authors who can get me invested in a one-night stand right off the bat, but this book was real and raw enough to make it work. Written solely from the hero’s point of view, Trashed follows an ex-con gang member trying to get back on his feet as he develops feelings for the prickly chef he works for. Sexy, funny, heart-warming and intensely romantic, this book is one of my all-time faves. In fact, I adore this whole series."

Crying ISNT optional
Omg, Ive just watched an entire week worth of Cillian Murphy movies and his ability to become these characters is upsetting. I wouldnt trust that man.at all.whatsoever. This film moved me so profoundly. Brings up past feelings you only thought were behind you. If you've experienced unconditional love, you will be absolutely heartbroken by the events and how it builds to that ending..... If you havent experienced unconditional love you will still cry like a f--ckin "bebe".

"He's the best frontman of all time. Iggy Pop and Nick Cave are up there for me in different ways, but Nick Cave didn't invent the stage dive. I could have picked any Stooges, but Raw Power has everything. I picked this mainly because of my love for Iggy Pop. When Post Pop Depression came out last year I fell in love with it, a collaboration between two of my favourite artists [Pop and Josh Homme], and to see this man play the Royal Albert Hall and stage diving is pretty fucking next level. It was a monumental moment. I was quite young when I first heard The Stooges. I had a couple of weird mixtapes my uncle had made. He was into stuff like The Specials but there were a few random tracks on there and the Stooges were one of them. Now, any time I have to DJ I mainly just play Iggy. He's got so many classic songs that you don't have to think about it, you can just turn to him first, a decent 40 minutes of Iggy Pop, then fill it out with whatever else you need to put in. Iggy's hits are a bit stretched out over his entire career, but Raw Power's got my favourite lyrics he's ever written. It's got the song 'Raw Power' which is just next fucking level and it's got 'Search and Destroy'. ""I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm"". If you want to sum up how a man feels walking down a Hollywood street feeling like a badass, it doesn't get any better than that. The name of the album says everything you need to, it's where I took inspiration from when I was trying to come up with Modern Ruin."

At first, I thought I might have made a mistake in requesting to read this book. However, by the end of the third chapter, I realized I was in for a very different and unique reading experience. I ended up captivated with the characters stories and the well-written story line. It was beautiful and raw and I am glad I did not give up on this book.

This book has made me a Han Kang fan !!
The story follows several people after the aftermath of the Gwangju uprising who all connect through the events of the suppressed student in 1980. This is my first Han Kang Book and I loved every bit of it, I'm not a massive book fan but this intrigued me, it was very raw and powerful and I suppose thats what I like in a book.
It's quite brutal and hard to read, however you'll learn about a section of history that you've probably never heard of.

Very steamy and full of lots of laugh out loud moments
I LOVE this book. It is one of the most addictive romance novels I've ever read. The story of Caroline and Simon's budding relationship is exciting and raw. The best thing about this book is the hilariously relatable protagonist, Caroline, and her adventures in juggling her career, her baking, and her extremely loud neighbor. Would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance novels that offer sexiness and a good chuckle every now and then.
