"The way I look at it is that I’ve been searching for the perfect album to drink beer to my whole life. As far as that goes, this is it. This is the album. Perfect music to get drunk to: Iggy Pop and The Stooges. It’s just that raw energy. All the pieces are there, but it’s not squeaky clean. Like his album Raw Power, that’s exactly what his music is. Take your shirt off and chug a beer. That’s all there is to life at that point when you listen to that record."

Rolling Stone's 237th greatest album of all time
Strange album, generally mediocre 60s songs with the epic My Generation standing out like a sore thumb. One raw, raucous rock song among all the saccharine Merseybeat was a little unusual.

Getting Off: One Woman's Journey Through Sex and Porn Addiction

This is a memoir about a woman's addiction to porn and sex. It is well written, raw, and honest. I commend her for talking about something viewed as taboo. If she writes anything else I would be interested in reading it.

"A meticulous and raw portrait of mourning and grief that takes us through the year after the death of Didion’s husband, as well the accident, illness, and eventual death of her daughter soon afterward. I cried so many times reading this."

Rolling Stone's 247th greatest album of all time
The live setting of this album sets is apart from the other Grateful Dead albums I have listened to. This gives the mediocre 60s blues album a more raw and authentic feel.

This masterpiece is one that MUST be experienced on the big screen. I mean how else does one get to truly immerse themselves in his realness alongside his otherworldlyness and fully experience the music?

Pure and raw emotions about grief and loss (0 more)
Bundle of pain and sadness
Finished this little bundle of sadness and pain today. If you have recently lost someone, whether it be through death or otherwise, please give this book a read. Coming from an author of older age, I was not expecting it to be this raw and emotional, and yet here I am- sitting in a daze rethinking my entire life. Do not let the title fool you like it fooled my therapy book club group- ‘magical’ in this case is not meant to denote happiness.

"Sean Penn’s performance is brutally raw. He starts off so cocky and impenetrable and hateful. Slowly he strips away his armor until he’s left with nothing but love. Some actors can give a perfectly calibrated performance and some can strip themselves bare — Penn does both."

"Roz Chast is always funny, but this graphic memoir about caring for her aging parents is also raw, brutally honest, and heartbreaking. It’s an unsparing portrait of decline, but also a loving act of witness; it tells the truth without sugar-coating or looking away."

A good if gritty, raw film about a runaway girl and a prostitute she befriends trying to get away from a small time gangster. Very short but it makes a big impact, although it was getting predictable towards the end. Great film for a shoe string budget.
