"My philosophy was that, no matter what, you'll get where you're going. Maybe you take the road you didn't expect, and it turns out to be the long way. That doesn't matter. You keep your head because you're an outlaw. You get there traveling whatever road you need to take." -George Christie

Who knew such wise words could come from the pen of a former president of the Hells Angels? What a fascinating read. Christie is a real life cowboy who isn't afraid to tell his story the way he sees it.

Important, interesting, freaky and even a little terrifying
A fascinating look into the Centre for Disease Control and their role in dealing with some serious but highly interesting, insane real life outbreaks. Each chapter discusses fatal cases which in itself can be turned into a film. From deadly ice cream, to an epidemic of newborns dying at a hospital - these are important cases that need addressing and for further public awareness. As vital as this book is, it's filled with scientific jargon and requires concentration. A great read.

The storyline in general is very good and it stays true to real life when the scene is described as it's set primarily in Brighton, England. Peter James has a very good descriptive style with his work and it definitely shows with this story. (1 more)
This book is very gripping and it definitely keeps you engaged and wanting to read more.
The one thing that I'd comment on is the ending. It felt like it ended very abruptly to me in the way the main character is caught. (0 more)

Imagine knowing nothing of the outside world. From birth, all you know and have ever seen is all in one room. This book is powerful. I feel it gets most of its strength from the fact that everything is written from Jack's perspective. He is 5. If he doesn't know what something is, you don't either. Outside is completely alien to Jack. A little real life horror here.

A note about the movie: the only good parts in that movie happened in the first half hour. That movie DID NOT do justice to this book!
