Erika (17789 KP) rated Destroyer (2018) in Movies

I had a few thoughts while watching this film: Would Nicole Kidman actually look like that in real life if she hadn't gotten her face done? As well as, damn, I think this film is a remake of Point Break.
I saw this a few days ago, and honestly, Sebastian Stan was the best part. I didn't think there was enough of him, obviously, the story was focused on Nicole Kidman's character. The storytelling was interesting, and a pleasant surprise. But, this film is essentially Point Break by another name with slight changes.

Lol..this story made me laugh.. in so many spots.. It was so read and wonderful. Adrian was a total dick and an arse.. yet he was real and made me smile. Melody on the othe rhand is his opposite.. These two kind of reminded me of my own life.. with my husband. So watching them interact and their love blossom and the messiness of their lives made me giggle. Their are some very yummy scenes as well and it was so much fun to read this and I'm so glad I got to review it

Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology in Books
Jun 6, 2018
Wow! If I didn't love Leah Remini before, I certainly do now. I found her book to be extremely insightful. I also liked how everything was made easy to understand especially the Scientology terms.
What I love the most about Leah is how real she is. She doesn't hold anything back.
This book isn't just about Scientology. It's about Leah's life. Leah was so honest and truthful in her book, it seemed.
Scientology is a cult. It's a shame how they treated Leah and many of their members and ex members.
I would definitely recommend this book!

I’ll readily admit that I did not finish reading this book, and that is saying a lot coming from someone who will usually finish a book, even if I don’t really enjoy it.
I got about a hundred pages into this before I was so fed up with the characters that I just could not continue. These teenagers were so whiny and over dramatic that the6 made me appreciate the real-life preteens that I teach.
You’ll find far less melodrama in an actual classroom than in these pages. I imagine only actual high school students could stomach reading these caricatures of themselves.

Aasiyah Sidat (34 KP) rated Anna and the French Kiss in Books

I love romance. I am a sucker for a good love story. I will aww and sob my way through books and movies and pray for my prince charming to come and whisk me off my feet.
You: Aasiyah, that's not how real life works.
I know, I know, rose-tinted glasses and all that, but honestly, sometimes that kind of view can get us through the day and give us something to look forward to.
Sometimes it's nice to take a break from reality.

This book totally messed with my head! I loved it!
I'll admit it's a strange one and I haven't read anything like it before so to me it's definitely original. It's also very creepy and very tense. The author is great at building tension, it starts from the very first page and doesn't let you go until the end...even then you'll be thinking about it with your night-light on.
It's pretty scary to think this kind of thing happens in real life...talk about nightmare neighbours.

Nothing makes one swoon as much as a story of two people finding eachother. Meeting online, then in real life. Neither knows the other is actually their online bff. It makes the story and romance that much better. I adore the characters and the back stories so well woven in. I read this after reading her other book and I found that this one was much better. The way the characters interact and grow to be fond instead of an insta-love.
Should you try it: Perfect for fans of romance that will curl your toes with giddiness.

You see one drug addict movie, you've seen them all
I heard good things about this movie so when I had a chance to catch it from the beginning recently, I gave it a watch. I was thoroughly bored and unimpressed with most everything about this movie except for Leonardo DiCaprio's raw talent and acting and Ernie Hudson's character. Hudson was engaging, sympathetic and endearing. I hope addicts in real life have someone like him in their lives who helps them through their addiction.

Jackjack (877 KP) rated 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019) in Movies

Basic!
This is a story of a young girl struggling to adjust to her new life, new school, new family, out if the blue the two step sisters are made to spend the day together where they don't stick to the plan and go off for a small adventure with some friends but end up scuba diving where things go from bad to worse, a few jumpy bits I didn't expect. The story line it's self was really good I did however think the sharks didn't look all that real, on the whole it was a good watch.
