Avengers meets John Wick
Having been completely unfamiliar with the source comic book material, I was unsure the tone or visuals I viewed in this film are consistent with that or not, so I just have to judge on their own merits.
Anyone who follows my reviews knows I am not the hugest fan of nonsense or robust excessive CGI in place of good acting story and screenplay, so I have to say this film suffered from a little bit of that. Some of the kill scenes bordered on a little silly, having been done much better and more realistic in John Wick.
Having said that, I was never bored while watching and thought the acting, especially that of Samuel L. Jackson, was pretty good for the most part.
It definitely feels like more style than substance in some parts, but maybe that was the point. I will always side with realism over hyper-realism unless done very well, and I feel this film falls a bit short.

Deceptively fabulous feminist book
This quaint, quirky mystery novel has so many themes intertwined in a logical fashion that I'm considering it to be near perfect.
With magical realism as a major part of this tale, I was initially apprehensive to what conclusion could be achieved without drifting off on a tangent. However, it came together revealing its true purpose, that of the women who at the beginning seemed meek and mild, but actually were at the heart of the plot. Well written.

A long episode of X-Files
For those who are Sci-fi fans, this is a bit of a dream. It's intelligent, compiled completely through a series of 'classified' interviews with a mysterious authoritative person with no name. While the concept is a bit unoriginal and slightly lame, it's written in a militaristic tone giving a sense of realism. There is a big twist at the end that sets up the premise for the next book. Interesting - but not much else.

A simple idea that is done really well. It compares well to other films like Open water where people find themselves in a perilous situation and have to battle to survive. Despite most of the film just set on a ski lift it is quite engrossing. Most will be thinking what would I do in that situation. The cast do well it and doesn't need any effects really, filmed on location in the cold for more realism. Well worth a watch!

Bringing Bond up to date
A very good Bond indeed, better than the last, not sure about best ever though. Once again there is a bit more realism with this effort than most of the franchise, this time with cyber terrorism part of the main threat. There is plenty of action, references to many of the other Bond films, and some great acting as well. What's not to like?!?

Goofy is the best word to describe this movie. It wasn't terrible, but I found it a little too comical to be taken seriously. I'm not sure what the intention was with the film, Jason Statham seemed to have fun with his goofy role. The film was completely predictable, and there wasn't one thing that was original or new.
The ending was especially comical for me, Statham VS Meg, in the water was so out of the realm of realism. But, it was amusing.
