"A sensation—nothing less. This novel not only won the Booker Prize in 1981 but was honored as the Booker of Bookers in 1993. I identify with Rushdie’s imaginary echelon of children born at the stroke of midnight on August 15, 1947, when India was liberated. In its rich tapestry of storytelling, magical realism, and history, the book revealed Rushdie’s staggering talent. He turns the turmoil of India and Pakistan into a Tolstoyan panorama that is much funnier than War and Peace."

Bringing Bond up to date
A very good Bond indeed, better than the last, not sure about best ever though. Once again there is a bit more realism with this effort than most of the franchise, this time with cyber terrorism part of the main threat. There is plenty of action, references to many of the other Bond films, and some great acting as well. What's not to like?!?

Goofy is the best word to describe this movie. It wasn't terrible, but I found it a little too comical to be taken seriously. I'm not sure what the intention was with the film, Jason Statham seemed to have fun with his goofy role. The film was completely predictable, and there wasn't one thing that was original or new.
The ending was especially comical for me, Statham VS Meg, in the water was so out of the realm of realism. But, it was amusing.

This follow up to A Dark Lure did not disappoint. Set in the same area, it revisits a few characters from the debut but is almost entirely a stand alone novel. It was exciting and thrilling, just like it’s predecessor. The characters were well rounded and had the depth and realism that make a great novel. I wish the “initial” case had been delved into a bit deeper but I was very happy with the story and all its components. Can’t wait to see what comes next!

A big budget all star cast comedy!? Well it was quite a good idea of having a bunch of actors filming in the jungle, going for realism when actually they are under attack from a local drug cartel! Almost spoofs parts of platoon, Rambo along the way. It does have some very funny scenes and laugh out loud moments. Other times it's just a bit too silly. Robert Downey Jr was a very good surprise addition as was Tom Cruise as a Hollywood studio executive! Well worth checking out.
