The casting
A mindless but okay movie
I liked the casting and watched this because I do like some Nicholas Sparks on occasion. I'd read the book and it was mediocre at best. The film exceeded the book but still there is something significant missing in plot development. The main story in the house has some feeling but the background story as to why Gere's character is in the area lacked realism. It was still a decent movie to pass the time, but not desperately memorable.

The detail is immense!
Big F1 fan anyway so of course slightly biased but I was amazed at how detailed the game is, how your tyres wear and you have to fuel save as well as being involved in all the garage and strategic planning. The jump in car performance between F2 and F1 is also incredible and a surprise. Think only potential grievance I have is doing a full F2 season is not really worth much when you then go to F1, you can still pick any team, you just have a slightly higher rating

The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated The Kitchen Daughter in Books

It isn't often that I say "I couldn't put this one down" but its the truth about this one! The author grabs the reader at the very start, with her main character Ginny. And while the "magic realism" part could have been too much, it is tempered nicely with the reality that Ginny is trying to cope with. That, together with the recipes that Ginny cooks up (which bring on the ghosts) would make one think Joanne Harris meets Mark Haddon. Gareth von Kallenbach (980 KP) rated Home Again (2017) in Movies
Jul 11, 2019
A single mother, living with her two daughters in the sunniest part of LA is swept of her feet into polysemic ties between love, anger, confusion and men.
Home Again tells the story of a coming out and embracement of nostalgia through storytelling and friendship. The movie takes the audience on a ride through the typical life of filmmakers and performers inside the entertainment industry and captures the real life context beautifully through intricate directions in realism.
Whereas this movie this movie hits ominous tones of sad context, there is just enough comedic relief to make it a perfect heartwarming date night movie.
