Why the 3 stars? To me this book seemed a tad drawn out. Almost as if the author had read the Bloody Jack series and decided to create a book with less pirates. Love blossoms through distance and strife.
I feel this is the perfect book for Outlander lovers and those who want a realistic romance.

Michelle's way of talking was very realistic, a French woman speaking English isn't likely to have the perfect grasp and she didn't; it was very authentic and I liked it.
I also liked the authors way of describing the thoughts of people around them that they could hear and how they were thinking about realistic things.
Things I wasn't so fond of: the storyline. Bent cops wanting to get their own back on a woman who humiliated them. Just seems a little overkill.
