The Death of Bees

[The Death of Bees] by [Lisa O'Donnell] is a coming of age novel set in Glasgow, Scotland. The characters are realistic and make you feel for them although the dialogue is hard to understand at points because it is the true way they speak in the poorer parts of Scotland. This does not deter but rather enhances the characters who had to survive on their own and take care of each other even before their 'parents' die and get buried. They learn to care not just for each other but also outsiders who really do have their best intentions in mind.

Interesting but a little too ambiguous
This is a strange film. For the most part it’s a very interesting gothic drama, and creates a lot of intrigue as you try to figure out what’s going on. Sam Claflin and Rachel Weisz do very well, but I found the film and the goings on a little too ambiguous. The ending left me a little unsatisfied and it wasn’t exactly unpredictable either. For me, the most frustrating thing was how quickly he fell for Rachel’s charms. Literally within minutes of her arriving he seemed to lose all of his prior hostility - not exactly realistic.

Thor Ragnarok
Out of all the Thor movies released to date, Ragnarok is my favorite. Before Thor just was either simply annoying to me or wasnt able to hold my attention. Ragnarok begins fleshing out of his character. He may be a god, but his flaws and foibles make him more realistic and relatable. We get to see his struggles. We get to see facets of his sense of humor. Oh, and he makes fight scenes EPIC.

My Moms’ DIY Gay Wedding
Abertalli just keeps fleshing out this web of relationships she has created, starting with her novel Simon Vs. the Homosapian Agenda. In this installment of the not-a-series series, Molly Peskin-Suso is struggling with the possibility of rejection, her relationship with her twin sister, and planning her moms’ wedding in under three months! It was refreshing to see the event that we are leading up to in a realistic YA novel be a gay wedding and not a prom.

Edit: Also I cried, I haven’t done that in a while.

this book continues from the first one and can not be read as a stand alone read. This is another fab sexy, sensual, erotic, steamy read from this author. This book is very realistic but can be heart breaking in places. I cant wait for book 3 to be released I really need to know what happens next with these characters. The character have such an intense chemistry that just leaps of the page at you as you read.

Highly recommended

The Raid (2011)
The Raid (2011)
2011 | Action
It doesn't get much better than The Raid "Redemption" and its sequel, The Raid 2 in terms of non-stop action, but still an interesting plot. You will be glued to your seat from the word go as you not only try and figure out where the story is going, but also enjoy the extremely impressive, realistic choreography. Also, given the indoor, stifling sets, it makes the action that much better.

It kind of reminded me of the new "Dredd" film with Karl Urban in plot, but that is not a complaint.

Highly recommended for action film fans.

The ending was a complete surprise, as well as the premise being a really good idea. (0 more)
Execution of the premise wasn't as amazing as expected. First few chapters a bit slow and wobbly, but the second half makes up for it. (0 more)
A good debut from Renee Knight
At surface level, this is a really good psychological suspense/thriller book. However, you will find flaws if you look deeper. I couldn't really relate to any characters, I didn't particularly like or become attached to any of them, but the multi-layered family conflict was good and realistic.

I didn't think things could get any better after the first book but I have to say that this one is even better than the first one, I was very happily surprised I must say. It was more intense, it was more gruesome and the character development was just brilliant. I love the developing relationship between the two main characters, their relationship is very realistic and troublesome which keeps things very interesting. I am very much looking forward to the next one in the series as I think (after reading this one) it's going to get even better! 5 stars from me!

A New Favorite
* I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*
I absolutely loved this book. Brandy is one of the best characters I've come across in a while. She's funny, and extremely realistic. Jer her love interest, is a great addition to the story. He has everything going for him in a way that makes him extremely dreamy. He also has just enough flaws to keep him from outshining the other characters.
If you are interested in a romantic comedy featuring a late bloomer, then this is definitely a book you should pick up.

Crossovers
Marvel worthy?... Definitely
I found this movie interesting to watch. The plot line I found to be less like a typical marvel film however had all elements- battles, individual character development, crossovers between storyline... It stood out however due to the location and area that the black panther is from. It is slightly pushed on realistic boundaries to have such a developed community unknown to the best of the best for years only to appear out of the blue in previous movies. I think the movie has good acting also and holds potential for future plots and movies.
