"Oh my God, how could I forget it? Jules and Jim. It’s that one with that very famous French actress, [yells at her husband to look up the name] Jeanne Moreau! I had never seen acting by a woman that way. She was so layered and complicated, and she threw things away that other actresses would nurture for a whole film. Do you know when I saw that movie — I saw it by myself — in the middle of it, it was so overwhelming I had to walk back and watch it from the back of the theater. I couldn’t just sit in my chair. It was so wonderfully honest and complex about relationships between men and women. And you saw aspects of her that were really dark that came out, as opposed to the stuff that was coming out back then."

A daring third installment!

I'll be honest, I've not read the first two books.....I know I've missed a treat having read Dare. It's a nice easy read, perfect for a lazy afternoon in the garden.

It's well written fun with twists and surprises. Although short you still get to know the characters and form your own relationships with them. I love the optimism and closeness of Calla and Dare, the way they think along similar lines and have a bit of a mischievous streak. It was fun seeing each of them grow and discover things about themselves.
    They definitely fit well together.

There are characters that I don't like, with good reason, and ones that I just generally don't care for.

Christina Bauer never disappoints with her writing but always amazes me with her imagination.

Storyline hooks you (0 more)
Sometimes you end up shouting at the telly as your sad at what happens... is this really a bad thing though?? (0 more)
Amazing series!!
Contains spoilers, click to show
Since series 1 I was hooked from the way that franky developed as a character to the way that bee did and actually formed strong relationships with the people around her. You do have moments through the series where you asked why things happen? Why have they killed off specific people. Recently happening in this latest series and wanting to shake some of the characters in it to wake them up. Allie Novak especially what is she doing!! Think there should be her seeing a ghost in the storyline so that she can be bought out of Marie's shadow.... spoilers are in the above do apologise but it's a must see!!

Pain and Glory (2019)
Pain and Glory (2019)
2019 | Drama
Reflective drama from Pedro Almodóvar. An aging film director whose health is beginning to fail looks back upon key events and relationships from his life and contemplates his future. Clearly there is a semi-autobiographical element to this film, which is informed to a great extent by Almodóvar's own life - Bandera's character hasn't spoken to another character for decades, reflecting the twenty-year falling-out between Banderas and Almodóvar himself, while various other key collaborators appear in small roles.

More sober and introspective than many of the director's films, but made with the usual skill and subtlety; he hasn't lost his fondness for outrageous plot contrivances, either. In the end this is an arthouse drama, so perhaps not to all taste - but while this can be a bit slow and talky, it is also very satisfying, warm and humane.

Not for the faint hearted 50 shades this is NOT
It's taken me a few years to read this book. It's Sadism at its best and vile
It's based around a group of adults who take a group of children to a castle and during said 120 days they slowly ingratiate said minors into a life of pure Sadism.
The adults have complex relationships between themselves let alone between the innocent children.
Every evening a story is told by an adult, usually an ex prostitute who shares her experiences with the group. Okay we are NOT talking the odd handcuff, 50 shades of boring stuff here, we are talking body fluids, eating shit, using every hole in the body in various ways with both sexes and varying ages.
This book is why Marquis De Sade is Sadism pure and simple.
