I am loving the Iron Portal series and Warrior's Heart is no exception. Vince was taken away abruptly by the army ten years ago, and presumed dead by his family for a long time. Zara was the one left behind that no one knew about but with a present of her own. Both these people have to fight to survive and have their own demons to bear, Vincent's just being more physical. What the 'Doctor' did to him was sickening, and his reasoning for it, although it sort of made sense in a twisted sort of way, absolutely did not excuse what he was doing to the Talents. Zara honed her Talent and used it to 'rescue' items that had been stolen from Cascadia. When she learns that Vincent is alive and can be found, she uses her Talent to rescue him too.

This book was harder to read as Vincent tries to deal with his past and his PTSD, while I was full of admiration for Zara and how she handled things. I fall more in love with Cascadia every time we visit and I loved the family reunion and yes, I shed a tear or two.

This is once again incredibly well-written, packed full of emotion and a delight to read. I would recommend this book and this series without any hesitation at all. Love it.

The Girl from Widow Hills
By Megan Miranda
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Everyone knows the story of “the girl from Widow Hills.”

Arden Maynor was just a child when she was swept away while sleepwalking during a terrifying rainstorm and went missing for days. Strangers and friends, neighbors and rescue workers, set up search parties and help vigils, praying for her safe return. Against all odds, she was found, alive, clinging to a storm drain. The girl from Widow Hills was a living miracle. Arden’s mother wrote a book. Fame followed. Fans and fan letters, creeps, and stalkers. And every year, the anniversary. It all became too much. As soon as she was old enough, Arden changed her name and disappeared from the public eye.

Now a young woman living hundreds of miles away, Arden goes by Olivia. She’s managed to stay off the radar for the last few years. But with the twentieth anniversary of her rescue approaching, the media will inevitably renew its interest in Arden. Where is she now? Soon Olivia feels like she’s being watched and begins sleepwalking again, like she did long ago, even waking up outside her home. Until late one night, she jolts awake in her yard. At her feet is the corpse of a man she knows—from her previous life, as Arden Maynor.

I actually wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did! The story was really good and was written really well. I wasn’t expecting the end either. It was nice to have not worked out the culprit before the end for a change.

Join Jessamina and her team in Book three of the Collectors Division.

Guardian’s Blood is a Reverse harem novel and as such there will be no choosing. Contains both MM and FF and scenes of a sexual nature and isn’t recommend for young readers.

Holy hell that’s one way to wrap up a trilogy! Omg I had every emotion going! I’ve enjoyed this series so so much and I’m hoping and praying we get a spin off I mean there is just too much not too! I won’t post spoilers but once you have read this you will totally understand. Mina is one hot pink bar or demon! Spicy scenes I normally brush over but these were just dragging me in. The world building and characters I just absolutely loved I’ve literally stayed up all night to finish it. Please give this author and series a go!

I have read a lot of books in my time- a LOT- and have never read anything quite like this one. The premise of it is a fear of many: to be stranded on an island. That fear goes even deeper for the characters in this book because with no hope for rescue, they continued to live their lives as best as they could. When, much to their surprise, they are saved from their island home they weave a web of lies that could break all of their loved ones. The characters are relatable in their flaws and with each secret revealed you feel closer to them. You'll get sucked into this book and when it finally spits you out you'll feel like you'd been right there with them.

Who Was Killed at the Party?
Pet therapist Caro Lamont is attending a fundraiser for a local greyhound rescue organization. However, the evening ends unexpectedly when a man crashes into Caro and then falls down dead at her feet. No one seems to know who he was, but someone must. Who was he? Why did someone want him dead?

This book wastes little time jumping into the murder, and it really doesn’t slow down after that. The book is filled with laughs, coming from some absurd situations and some eccentric characters. Yet the core cast of characters are still serious enough that we can care about them and the outcome. Caro finds plenty of clues and red herrings on her way to a logical solution to yet another fun mystery.

Skyscraper (2018)
Skyscraper (2018)
2018 | Action
Utterly derivative and calculated mash-up of the thriller and disaster movie genres as Dwayne Johnson has to rescue his lovely family from a really tall building which is on fire, and some evil criminals who are not.

Not what you could honestly call bad in any department, but any soul or originality seems to have been ground out of the script, which may well have been written by software. The only exception to this is - it's not even a proper subplot - the fact that Johnson's character has a prosthetic leg, which keeps turning out to be relevant to the action in all kinds of odd ways. But this just serves to make the film odd rather than actually interesting. In the end it's okay, just really bland.

Great storyline, cheesy old school graphics and action, brilliant characters and cast.
Absolute classic.

Fun fact:

The project fulfilled Carpenter's long-standing desire to make a martial arts movie.

A boring action movie
Contains spoilers, click to show
The marine stars wrestling shovel john cena, a man who's wrestling is just as bad as his acting, although some improvement has been made to his acting abilities, this first attempt was the start of some very questionable choices.

John cena plays john triton, a former marine discharged from his services (so the ex marine) who wife is kidnapped in a cliched heist gone wrong.
He the Forrest Gump's his way to her rescue with some pretty great dialogue from the villains.

Apart from a couple of great fight scenes, this movie personally deserves less applause than DOOM (I'll get to that one).

Maybe worth an occasional watch but definitely not in my top 100.

Starring Robert Patrick
