Resident Evil: another one?
After 2 great movies and a forgettable 3rd, alice is back to tell us her name is Alice, and she remembers everything (again)
In this 4th outing in the Resident Evil saga we see our survivor (ugh, what's her name again?) Find a group of survivors including chris Redfield who seems untrustworthy and locked in a cage (if a prison can't contain him, a cage won't) a returning claire Redfield and other forgettable badass characters.
This time trapped in a flooded building, that's surrounded by the dead and with time running out, Rick....I mean Alice will lead this rag tag group of survivors outta danger and into the unknown.
Still it helps us recover from Extinction...am I right?

This is not Resident Evil
It still amazes me despite how many films, animations and now a series that they can't recreate the feel and vibe of the game series.
Decided to check this out despite hearing how bad it was. This is very far from Resident Evil you know from the games. Wesker is very different which just begs the question why? Other than a few creatures brief appearance from the games this may as well have a different title. The Zombies, now called Zeroes, again why? Don't even look like zombies. The story is rather daft, the whole thing is disappointing. Save your time you are not missing out by skipping this.

I really liked this low budget horror. If you love playing survival horror video games like Resident Evil, you should enjoy this. People start dying after they play a video game, exactly the same way as they die in the game. Is there a link and how can they survive before they are all killed off?

Just watched finally a resident evil movie that doesn't feature alice its better than some of the sequels that has come before it. AND finally actually basing the movie on the first two games which is an improvement in itself if there's a sequel they should introduce nemesis but no alice

I only liked a couple of characters, rest were kinda boring
One of the best video game movie adaptions
This was a lot of fun. 1 of the best adaptions if a video game and also 1 of the best resident evil movies too.

The CGI was great and I'd love the next reboot of the movie franchise to be done like this rather than live action. For a CGI movie the shots were great, I loved the little parts where it felt like a first person view.

The action was great and the acting was good but I only liked a couple of the characters and I do prefer regular zombies to the parasites type sadly.

I can see myself watching this again. I heard this was a prequel to resident evil 6 so I do like this ties into the video games more than the live action does. It feels like a standalone movie so you don't necessarily need to have watched other movies or played the games before which is good.

A fascinating book from a horror and gaming perspective.
A fun, fascinating book that gives a great deal of information regarding what happened in the Resident Evil/Biohazard series before the first game.

The "Trevor's Letters" section of the book provides a haunting, yet not overly revealing backstory about the notorious mansion's design, but it succeeds in preserving the mystery of what lies ahead, while providing gamers with some subtle game hints.

The main section of the book, "Resident Evil: The Beginning", is a light novel by Hiroyuki Ariga, providing a brief prequel to the game that leads straight into the game itself. Well written and thoroughly enjoyable!

The final section is an interview with Shinji Mikami, the designer of the game, where he talks about his inspirations and previous games. A superb insight into how the game was made, mainly providing details on game design and the games soundtrack (or lack thereof). A smart and funny interview with a man that gamers have a lot to thank for!

The main problem with the book is that it was only released to the Japanese market, but thanks to the wonder of the internet, there is a translation available so we can all enjoy it!

The Infested Mansion
Resident Evil- like Silent Hill, the atmosphere of a the horror genre is excellent. Resident Evil ask you the question, if you and your team got stranded and the only place to go is a old creepy manison and survive it, can you do it?. The answer for me, no! But for Chris and Jill their have to, no other choice. Thats what i love about Resident Evil, is the atmosphere of the manison, the creepest, the mystery, the suspense, the thrills and the creatures that live inside of it.

The plot: Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, are members of an elite task force known as S.T.A.R.S., as they investigate the outskirts of Raccoon City following the disappearance of their team members. They soon become trapped in a mansion infested with zombies and other monsters. The player, having selected to play as Chris or Jill at the start of the game, must explore the mansion to uncover its secrets.

Gameplay: The player's character is a member of a special law enforcement task force who is trapped in a mansion populated by dangerous mutated creatures. The objective of the game is to uncover the mystery of the mansion and ultimately escape alive.

To fulfill the game's objective, the player uncovers various documents that provide exposition about the game's narrative, as well as clues that help them solve various puzzles within the mansion. Key items are also available that give the player access to other items or new areas. The player can arm their character with weapons to defend themselves from enemies, although the ammunition available for each firearm is limited and the player must learn to conserve the ammunition they have for situations where they will really need it

The carrying capacity of the player is limited depending on the character and items that the player does not wish to carry at the moment can be stored into an item box to be retrieved for later use. To save their progress, the player must pick up an ink ribbon and use it on any of the typewriters scattered through key locations in the game. However, the supply of ink ribbons the player can acquire is limited much like the player's ammo and healing supplies. Players will encounter and fight various infected creatures as flesh-eating zombies, undead dogs, giant spiders, and other monsters.

Resident Evil was very well received critically and commercially, and is often credited for defining the survival horror genre. Beyond video games, Resident Evil has been credited with re-popularising zombies in mainstream popular culture from the late 1990s onwards (along with The House of the Dead), leading to a renewed interest in zombie films during the 2000s. Resident Evil has since been hailed as one of the most influential and greatest video games of all time. Its success has spawned a multimedia franchise including video games, films, comics, novels, and other merchandise. The game has received dedicated ports to the Sega Saturn, Windows, and Nintendo DS. In 2002, a remake of the same name was released for the GameCube featuring updated graphics, sound, and changes to the gameplay and story. A high-definition remaster of the GameCube game was released in 2015 for modern platforms.

Resident Evil- is one of my favorite survivor horror games of all time and one of my favorite games of all times. Its intense, thrilling, suspenseful and overall scary. Resident Evil is a must to play, if you haven't already. Will you survivie the manison or not!

Unfortunately not as good as the first 2 Resident Evil animated films. The animation was quite poor and felt more like the game cut scenes at times. I'm not sure where it ties in with the games time line wise. The story is quite straightforward as well.

Take a classic Space Opera saga (Star Wars), add a soupcon of horror (Aliens), and a large dose of Zombies (Resident Evil), and what do you have?

This book.

The plot? An Imperial prison barge breaks down, and then comes across a seemingly abandoned Star Destroyer out in the wastes of space. It transpires that the Destroyer is not abandoned after all, and that it had been carrying out bio-weapon experiments ...

Definitely felt like the author was (heavily) inspired by the Resident Evil games/films: the Zombies are such not as the living dead back-to-life of Romero, but as a result of a engineered virus. The Aliens link I mentioned comes in on the 'set-on-prison-<s>planet</s>barge' setting, and I'm also not entirely sure why he felt the need to drop Han Solo and Chewbacca into the mix, unless that was just so you would know it is a Star Wars novel?

Not the best Extended Universe book.
