Simple and easy turns (2 more)
only 30 turns can be played in approximately a half hour. But I can also stop anytime and come back to it.
Feels like a digital board game.
I wish the graphics were better, not so retro block-y. (0 more)
I've played about 7 games of this and so far I've not cracked the code to getting more than 2 stars..
So far I really like it and really get into the exploring, an researching technologies. Even the battles are slightly entertaining. It's quick enough to take 2 or 3 turns and put it away on the go.

Good old style shoot 'em thriller
A fairly plain and simple action thriller, with over the top characters. Almost like a comic book adaption with a retro twist. A man on the run gets arrested hoping that will keep him safe. The hitmen on his tail have other ideas.
It's a little slow to getting going but it's not long before the chaos ensues and the bullets flying everywhere. Funny in places and Alexis Louder was impressive in her role. One to switch the brain off to and just enjoy the show.

Retro Cross Stitch Véronique Enginger is a beautiful collection of 500 charts for motifs with a French retro flair to cross stitch. The designs are varied and include many smaller designs as well as some larger pieces. Scattered throughout are finished examples stitched onto various articles like linens, bags, framed pictures and labels/cards.
A Touch of Nostalgia, Chocolate, Tea, Coffee, Fabulous Journeys, and Fashion. Most of the designs are small, which are perfect for crafters to use in a myriad of ways. With color stitching charts and DMC floss numbers provided, the patterns are easy for even a beginner to be able to follow.

The book has page after page filled with individual patterns grouped together by common subject. The trend towards lazy days during the 1800, parasols and high button boots, tea service and time at the boardwalk or the beach are beautifully imagined. Hope it's not following me
I really enjoyed this movie. Nowadays, it takes more than a jump scare and some blood to get me to hop out of my seat and pay attention. I need atmosphere and creep factor and this movie delivered.
The old "killer goes after those that have sex in a horror movie" rule gets turned on its head with a new and, dare I say it, modern perspective.

I loved the eclectic, old Polaroid quality of each shot, giving the movie a retro vibe while being futuristic at the same time -- setting the movie in no exact time frame.

Very much fun and retro at the same time!
I remember watching my son play Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD for Gamecube back when he was young and this game feels a lot like that.

The story mode is entertaining so far, the map pretty expansive and the characters you meet are entertaining. Let's face it though, it's all about the battles!

It is fun with the old style of turn-based RPG as you are used to with other Pokemon games.

I am probably not very far yet, but it takes a lot to keep my attention and this one has so far!

The arrival of Stranger Things has given those old enough to remember the 80s a real sense of nostalgia; a retro throwback to a time when life was relatively uncomplicated. The film cobbles together another bunch of archetypal misfits who are convinced their sleepy suburb harbours a terrifying secret – that the kind hearted cop living next door is in fact a sadistic serial killer.

Davey (Graham Verchere) is bored and in need of something to spice up his univentful summer. When he starts to suspect that Wayne Mackey (Rich Sommer) is a serial killer, he enlists the help of his friends to piece together the evidence.

It’s not long before the group think that Davey is paranoid and start to cut him off, leaving Davey’s hot neighbour, whom he has a desperate teenage crush on, as the only person who might just believe him. Summer of 84 was always going to come up short to its Stranger Things cousin, but I really enjoyed it, the synth retro soundtrack coupled with a satisfying ending made it a great watch.

It makes no excuses for being thoroughly unoriginal but instead has fun, never taking itself too seriously. Each of the boys has a reason to be outside playing amatuer detective rather than in the confines of their unhappy homes. The final epilogue will leave an unhinged sense of fear in us all and it’s an ending which doesn’t follow the normal rules.

Mario and his Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device (F.L.U.D.D.)
EVERYONE who owned a Game Cube owned Super Mario Sunshine. It was a cultural phenomenon.

Mario could hover, bounce, shoot water and chase around his shadow self all while exploring many fun and interesting areas within this great Nintendo platformer which basically introduced the world to Game Cube.

While Mario 64 was the first step for Nintendo into the world of 3D graphics, Sunshine expanded on those ideas and created a truly immersive game experience few games have reached.

The replayability is amazing as we recently found out when we rediscovered this title in our now retro game library.

So much FUN!!

Netflix and chill?? I find it more Netflix and stress out about having nothing to watch.
I find this a tricky one. Although finding a series can be quite easy the selection available is pretty poor. One minute your watching your favourite series and the next it's not available right as your about to finish it.
Want to watch a super retro film?? Don't bother. At Christmas you cannot get The nightmare before Christmas, the Grinch or elf. I mean that's pretty standard for Xmas viewing right?? ??
However with 2 kids there's usually something they can watch, and the Netflix original series are usually really good to watch.

Having won this in a Smashbomb Giveaway (whoop whoop!) I was a bit dubious as I’ve so lost touch with music the last few years and hadn’t heard of Tom Walker. I put it on and was pleasantly surprised.

I can’t compare him to any other singers as he sounds unique. I knew Leave A Light on as soon as it came on, probably subconsciously heard it on the radio. Being a retro fart of 51 I didn’t think it would be so good. Definitely one that I’ll play regularly from now on. Thanks Smashbomb for introducing me to an artist I probably wouldn’t have heard of otherwise!

The New Warriors had a very slow start for me, it wasn't until more than halfway that it finally started to click, and not because of some datedness. I think the writers and artists started finding their characters and where to go and how to get there. I happen to like some of retro-ness of the "heroes for the nineties" as is emblazoned a few places. Skateboards, blatant Batman rip-off, cheesy humor and slang, mention of one of my favorite shows ever (21 Jump Street); yeah, I'm not ashamed, I love it. Some of the little adverts or whatsits after the extra artwork were cute too. There are some genuinely great moments nearer the end and look forward to more.
