Very enjoyable fantasy adventure.
Based on the tabletop game, a group of adventurers bands together to exact revenge on the thief Forge (Hugh Grant).

Honor Among Thieves moves along at a brisk pace, using plenty of humor, which is well delivered by its humorous cast.
I was particularly worried from the trailer that this would be too focused on action and humor. Thankfully it wasn't.
Characters all have different backstories, though they are all quite predictable.
The main villain is very interesting and intense.
Action sequences are spaced out, well-choreographed, and quite clever.

Overall, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves doesn't really do anything new or different for the fantasy adventure genre. But what it does, it does well.
Very enjoyable, and a good introduction for D&D into the world of cinema.

What do you get if you take 'Universal Soldier', add a dollop of 'Terminator 2', a sprinkle of 'The Matrix', and a vertiginous punch-up that could have been taken straight from 'Spider-Man 2'?

The answer is this movie.

Except it's not as good as any of the previously mentioned; missing that spark that makes all of them science-fiction classics.

Vin Diesel - in-between headlining The Fast and the Furious franchise - must simply have been looking for a payday.

Here, he pays marine Ray Garrison, resurrected by a team of scientists after he and has wife are murdered, and setting out on a mission of revenge. It also takes about 45 minutes or so before you get to the good(ish) stuff, where the layers start to peel away ...

Until My Last Breath ( Demonic Convergence book 1)
By Sue Allerton
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

She believed their lies
Now she must find the truth

Niah devoted her life to revenge
She was trained, forged into a weapon.
Only to be betrayed

As she accepts the truth
She embraces the Fury ways.

And for the first time,
she learns the meaning of friendship.

Will friendship be enough to change fate?
Or will she become the monster she fears?

This was really good. It was non stop from start to finish with great characters and an interesting story. The whole concept was really good. This is the first time I’ve read this author and it won’t be the last. If you love angels and demons this is definitely worth a read.

A great story with some twists (0 more)

Great story
Well after watching a short while I realised this is actually based on a short TV series from the UK in 2009 starring Suranne Jones. A really gripping drama. This is basically a remake but set in the US.
The key story elements are the same as a young woman released after a long period in Prison for killing a cop tries to track down her younger sister. She struggles as her past catches up and the victims family are keen for revenge.
It holds up pretty well to the original, the writer also help produced this. Just the ending seemed a little less dramatic in this version. Still a very good story and a gritty role for Sandra Bullock.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)

Also known as "Salazar's Revenge" (instead of "Dead Men Tell No Tales") in certain circles - I think maybe Dead Men is the American subtitle? - this is the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film, with Johnny Depp again reprising what is (for me) his most iconic role of the Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow.

This ties itself closer to the original trilogy than the last entry ("On Stranger Tides"), with the return of certain key characters from that trilogy 'bookending' the plot, and with a close familial tie to one of the key characters of this.

Indeed, we're also back to basics with the plot of a supernatural threat to Sparrow, and of his wish to reclaim the captaincy of the Black Pearl (his ship), ALONGSIDE the return of Captain Barbossa (yet again)...
