Machete (2010)
Machete (2010)
2010 | Action, Mystery
B-Movie Exploitation Film
Machete- is a intresting B-Movie Exploitation action film. I like how Machete was in Spy Kids and that film was PG and now this film is R. Just like how he want easy and really did no killing in spy kids and in this one is full blooded revenge person.

Instead, during the filming of Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse, Rodriguez shot lobby cards and sequences from parts of the original script in 2006 for a fake trailer featuring Danny Trejo, Cheech Marin, and Jeff Fahey.

Jessica Alba won a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress, along with her other roles in The Killer Inside Me, Little Fockers and Valentine's Day.

The plot: After nearly being killed during a violent fight with a powerful drug lord, a former Mexican Federale known as Machete (Danny Trejo) roams Texas streets as a vigilante and sometime day-laborer. Hired to perform a covert hit, he is double-crossed and forced to go on the run. Machete may be down, but not out, and he carves a path of blood, bullets and broken hearts in his quest to settle the score.

The supporting cast is intresting and never thought that this people would work together. For Example Steven Seagal, Linsday Lohan, Don Johnson and Robert De Niro all working together. Never thought that any of these people would work together. Well i could see Don Johnson and Robert De Niro working together. But the rest, nope. But it did and it actually worked really well.

Its a fun action B-Movie exploitation film.

Maria appears to be a bit of a loner and very quiet with low self confidence and no friends. Fairly soon into the movie, whilst pleasuring herself (which I thought made no sense to have in the movie) she notices her reflection is seemingly alive. This freaks her out but she brushes it off and goes about her life. Eventually her reflection Airam calls out to her and they engage in conversation, nothing overly interesting and Maria goes about her life again, by this time I was ready to give up on the movie as nothing interesting was happening. There are a few more exchanges between Maria and Airam, and we soon discover just how controlling Maria's dad is when he offers her plastic surgery! Seriously, who does that to their child!? Eventually Airam makes Maria realise what the people in her life are really like and offers to take away her pain. Finally after almost an hour into the movie, the main plot of the story happens. Maria and Airam switch places, and Airam seeks revenge on all who hurt Maria.
It wasn't a terrible film, it just took way too long to start properly. you kind of route for Airam and understand why she does the things she does, to be honest I did feel sorry for her. At the same time though there's not much to go on. We know Airam was left to die because of her deformity, but I was hoping for an explanation from their dad, or for mum to realise it wasn't Maria anymore, but again nothing whatsoever and the ending gave more questions than answers.

Dark Harmony ( The Bargainer book 3)

There are worse things than death. Things that lurk in the shadows and slip into your dreams. Things that have no business existing. Things that once slept … but have now awoken.

For Callypso Lillis, the fae magic that now runs through her veins is equal parts curse and good fortune. For the very thing that bonds her to Desmond Flynn, the King of the Night, also makes her vulnerable to the Thief of Souls, a man who wants to break the world … and Callie along with it.

But it’s not just the Thief whose shadow looms over the Otherworld. Des’s father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who sent him to the grave in the first place.

Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men, and time is running out. Because there are forces at play working to tear the lovers apart once and for all … and unfortunately for them, death is no longer the worst thing to fear.

What an ending! I have absolutely loved everything about this series it was just so good. I have been looking for a decent fey series for so long! I think I’ll definitely be rereading this one! Highly recommended If you like your fey, hot sex but not constantly shoved down your throat and characters you can laugh, cry, love and hate. This was a series the author was giving away whist the world was on a crazy lockdown to so thank you Laura Thalassa!!
