I didn't know too much about the story when I saw this. Surprised it doesn't seem to be well known and got some bad reviews? It did feel like a mix of films from the likes of Gamer, Total Recall, Matrix, Blade Runner, irobot and even A.I. In the near future people plug in using their brains to control a robot which effectively they use to live their day to day lives. No danger of disease, accidents, violence and of course you can look like whatever you want to through your surrogate. Until someone found a way of destroying the robot also kills the controller while they are plugged in! This has a good cast, cool effects and was enjoyable to watch. Highly unoriginal though and it did feel like a collection of ideas from the mentioned films. Never the less this is still an entertaining film worth checking out!!

Your Name probably spent about a year sitting on my Amazon Prime watchlist before I eventually decided to watch it. A movie with 370 reviews and an overall rating of 5 stars, constantly overlooked by me in favour of old episodes of The Office! And then, one cold and gloomy weekend afternoon, I decided to give it a go.

To be honest, it didn’t really do anything for me at first, it felt a bit messy and a little confusing and I very nearly gave up on it after about 20 minutes. And then it grabbed me - the beautiful animation, the incredible storytelling, the emotion and the drama all clicked and took hold and by the end of it all this movie had completely blown me away. I’m only sorry I didn’t give this a chance sooner and I cannot recommenced it enough. Incredible.

It's interesting to me that I liked this book so much more than Fifty Shades. Partially because I think that Christian is a far more interesting character than Ana - he has much more of a backstory. Maybe it's because I relate to him in a lot of ways. I've read reviews that think this wasn't a good book in any regard, that E.L. James clearly doesn't know how to write as if she were a man, and I disagree. I know a Christian-like man and reading this novel, it was like being in his head too.

However, I have the same issue that I had with Fifty Shades in the dialogue. I do not know a single American that says, "I'm going to have a shower." I'm not sure why that infuriates me so much, but alas, it does. I am anxious to read Darker and the next Fifty Shades.

Rolling Stone's 500th greatest album of all time
Return of the G was a little more hip hop than I was expecting but decent.
Rosa Parks is a little better, more foot-tappy with an odd little country breakdown. The song, not the historical figure.
Annoying little skits in between songs.
Skew it on the Bar-B has a great beat and a better tempo.
Aquemini is a soulful little groove, with an interesting subtle change in mood halfway through.
Synthesizer starts as a basic hi-hat and snare tune and builds up with many layers of vocals and synth and piano.
I'm going to have to stop track by track reviews now, need to get some work done.
Except: Liberation (feat CeeLo Green) is an absolute treat.
Great album, a few tracks a little more gangsta than I like but some excellent soulful songs.
