Compulsively readable, feels more like a novel than an autobiography. At times I found myself able to relate to her or almost feeling sorry for her, at least in regards to her childhood, while other times I found her to be truly obnoxious and off-putting, especially in not accepting responsibility for her actions. However, I enjoyed her style of writing and I commend her bravery in putting her life and her struggles with addiction out there for the world to see, and judge. I imagine that every author dreads the bad reviews but when it's a book about your life that has to sting twice as hard. Hopefully her story will inspire others dealing with the same issues to turn things around. Curious to see if/how she will continue her literary career, perhaps a novel will be in her future (I certainly hope so!) *Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!*

A zombie movie with a heart?
After reading some great reviews for this film (some on Smashbomb) I thought I would give this modern Korean zombie film a try.

Boy was I glad I did.

Nothing too complicated with the plot here. Just a straight escape the zombie hoard before they bite you and make you part of the global onslaught type thing.

The characters are not well explained for the most part, but you care about them anyways when bad things start to happen. Blood and guts are amped down in favor of tension instead which I liked. The chase scenes were great and keep me watching and on the edge of my seat.

For those who don't like foreign films no worries here. The action and story keep you going almost immediately and you forget you are watching and reading at the same time.

Highly recommended. (Find on Netflix currently).

Haters gotta hate, but I liked it
After another successful "reboot", Rob Zombie tries his hand at a sequel to his version of Michael Myers.

Haunted by the death of his mother, Michael doesn't know what to do with himself other than continue his murderous rampage in pursuit of his sister, Laurie Strode.

Dr. Loomis has capitalized on his Michael encounters in penning a tell-all book which reveals all the "gory" details.

Yeah this movie is extremely violent at times and sometimes goes in various directions, but why all the negative reviews. IMDb has many, many of them. There are certainly lots of crappier horror movies out there. Maybe because expectations were high after the remake and this one went too far off the proven trail.

I was entertained mostly because I have watched all 10 Halloween movies over the last two weeks and this one I could honestly say I didn't know where it was going.

This was a very difficult book for me to rate so I rated it purely based on 'personal enjoyment'.
Yes the book was dark and clever and so well written but the enjoyment factor just wasn't there for me. Something I can not handle to read about is the abusing, torturing and killing of animals and this book was full of that. I could read an endless amount of books about the killing of people (slashers, thrillers, crime etc.) and not really be phased much but if animals are involved in it then my enjoyment level drops dramatically. I wish I had read other reviews first about this book so then I would of known what this book contains and wouldn't of read it, but I didn't as I worry about stumbling across spoilers.
An excellent look into the minds of the mentally disturbed and a truly crazy ride...it just wasn't for me.

I love it!
I’m an avid amazon user so to have such an easy to use app just makes the experience so much better. You remain logged in, making it easy to use without having to log in and remember passwords, and it’s ‘save for later’ feature is brilliant. I often add loads of things to my basket and move things to my ‘save for later’ list when I don’t want to purchase them just yet.

The app notifies you of any changes to your orders and when they are out for delivery and offers reviews from other customers to allow you to be confident in the quality of the product that you are ordering.

I will continue to use this and get the good deals and experiences that it offers.

Loved the insight into the creation and muse behind the series and characters and the other perspectives given by authors and reviewers. (0 more)
A lot of the pronunciation (in the audio book version) wasn't correct and was a bit off putting. (0 more)
Good accompaniment to the series
Overall I think this is a great accompaniment to the shadowhunters series. It gives a view from the author on how she came to create and develop the series and its characters. The essays and reviews given by various authors provides an interesting view on how they perceived certain character behaviours, attributes or even just topics covered in the books.

In the audio book version however, a lot of words and names were (from my experiences and explanations within the series - from the books, film or show) are incorrect and that's a personal grate of mine so I would recommend only the physical copy if anyone else is slightly annoyed by things like this.

I have 2 young boys (ages 3 and 5) so I jumped on the opportunity to review this Action Storybook Bible. Filled with lots of color and illustrations this Bible holds their attention well and keeps them engaged. With stories about Creation, Noah, Moses, and Jesus (plus loads more) your children will get a fun overview of the Bible. At the end of each "chapter" there is a "Life, Faith, Action!" section that reviews the story, challenges the child to think, and ends with a prayer.

Beautiful and STUNNING illustrations grace the pages of this Bible like you have never seen before.

I am excited to continue reading through this book with my kiddos and I know that they will love reading it on their own in the years to come.

I received a complimentary copy of The Action Storybook Bible. I was not required to submit a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Wine and Crime - Best Cocktail Ever!
A hilariously funny combination of crazy crimes, three childhood friends from Minnesota, and wine. Lots and lots of wine.
With wine reviews, a "background and psychology" section, and at least two crimes per show, these girls discuss a variety of crimes from murders in crazy places, and murders for bizarre reasons, to the smuggling of horse genitals. There really is something for absolutely everyone, although the easily offended should probably exercise caution.
With over 90 episodes, live shows around the US, and their attendance at Crime Con, these three amazing women provide hours upon hours of incredible ear fodder, brain soup, giggle muscle aperitifs and gag-reflex beverages (yeah, maybe stretched that analogy a bit far). Still, the podcast is fascinating, nausea-inducing, hysterically funny, and utterly addictive, and will have you saying "nice pahp" faster than you think.

I realised when I got this book that it was part of a series, only for some reason I thought it was the first part. When I started reading I found there appeared to be an awful lot of back story and when I checked I found it was something like the 9th book in the series!

That aside, I didn't have any difficulty following the plot and even saw some of the 'secrets' and plot developments coming a mile off. I'm only giving 3 stars as, although it was well enough written, even by the end I didn't find I cared enough about any of the character to wonder what would happen to them next. Even those that I think were supposed to be sympathetic to the reader I really couldn't care about; the book inspired no sense of empathy.

From other reviews on Amazon some people are really enjoying this series, but for me it was lacking in emotional engagement.

First Jewel Book
I had no expectation when I picked this book up. I knew about the author but I didn't read any reviews about this book. And when I started it I didn't want to put it down I wanted to finish it.
Holly Black does an amazing job mixing the human side into the fairy side. She writes it like fairies could possibly be right. There were surprises in the book that I didn't see coming but I was happy for. The action and the emotion in the book makes you actually feel for the character like they are real.
I think the best part to this book and all of Holly's books is she doesn't make a realistic character she makes a realistic world. She puts in real world situations that actually happen and it brings the story to life even more.
Darkest Part Of the Forest, is in my Jewel Collection.
