I haven't read any previous books in this series but each book is a stand alone.

So we're introduced to Ryder as he arrives home to see his grandfather after a fall in which he broke his hip. They discuss business and what's going to happen when his grandfather dies. The title and all business related to it will pass to the oldest married grandchild, and that isn't Ryder. To stop him from losing the business he loves he has to find a wife.

Welcome Scarlett to the scene. A woman he spent the night with after flying back out to America to attend to his business dealings across the pond. Only Scarlett runs a business he's trying to take over and is refusing to step down from a leading role. The perfect solution: get married and both get to keep the businesses they love.

Of course feelings emerge over time and what started off fake soon turns real. I actually enjoyed reading them fall for each other. It sort of bloomed over time out of all the sex and time they spent together. It was really kind of sweet. Of course, there's always something that happens that makes the couple part and I'm pleased to say that it was neither of their faults in this one! Nevertheless, they part ways for a while and Ryder's admission of his love and the things he did to try and win her back were really nice.

I'm actually looking forward to reading more books by this author if they're all like this.

I looked forward to reading this story for a while after seeing all the reviews by friends on here and when I finally got round to it a few weeks ago--yes, I said WEEKS!--I fell into the story.

Ehd seemed fairly clever mind wise, he knew names for things and had a good internal dialogue. He met Be(t)h fairly quickly, her appearing in his trap out of nowhere.

It was then I noticed a lack of dialogue between out characters. Beh talked, Ehd didn't understand. (Maybe I should point out that if a story is long, or is going through a patch of info overload, that I look for the next section of dialogue and continue from there.) There was no dialogue! Apart from the "name sound" as Ehd calls them and even they weren't said all that often. Add in Ehd's continual want to "put a baby in her" I was getting pretty fed up.

Life as a cave-man came across as being very boring and despite Beh's love of creating things out of clay and talking to a man who doesn't understand--which means we don't know what's she's saying either--then I lost interest very quickly.

My interest petered off at about the 45% mark but then I kept forcing myself to come back, to read a page or two now and then to see if it could redeem itself in my eyes, and unfortunately after skimming through the next 10% or so I just decided to give up, hence my DNF.

I may have to avoid cave-men stories from now on.

What a happy,breezy read! I flew through this book in less than a day absolutely flew through it. I found it happy,thought provoking and just one of those feel good books! One down side is I know the author was writing about experiences in her life (anxiety and panic attacks) and at times it felt like it was a book about her, like throughout the book I had her voice in my head as the main character. Which wasn't entirely a bad thing I just like to make up a persons face in my head rather than have it planted there. I am 25 years of age and I can't help but feel this book has been given such poor reviews because people either don't like her or the rumors they hear. I took this book for what it is, it's aimed at young teenagers so of course it shall be written like one as it is through the eyes of a young girl.
This book did fantastically at what it set out to do, and I won't judge it on something it didn't.
It was an intriguing plot line, I liked the main characters relationship especially between her and her best friend, I loved how close she was with her family and I loved the support she received when the events unfolded. As someone who suffers from anxiety I believe it was a very true telling of what can really happen and how someone can feel when dealing with such things. All in all I think this book is beautifully written for the age group it was intended for.
