The Wild Robot Escapes By: Peter Brown
Middle Grade Pages: 273

This is the second book in a series. I didn't realize it when I picked it up at the library. I read this book to my 13/14 year old. I read to him most every night for 20 minutes because he has a learning disability and this helps him with his reading.
Even though this is the second we still really enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars. The author did a great job with giving you a run down of what happened in the first book that yo able to catch on with what he telling in this book.
This book is about a robot named Roz who wants to go back home to her Island. The book starts off with Roz working at a farm well she is actually running the farm. She is very good at what she does. She becomes friends with the cows and the two children on the farm. Roz can only think about going home to her island while working on the farm. Roz also has a secret that she is hiding because she is afraid that if someone finds out she will never get back home and she thinks the family will send her back to the factory because she is dysfunctional. Does Roz make it back to her island. You will have to read the book to find out.
This book is full of adventures that your child will enjoy it.

In retrospect - this essentially becoming the template for the modern blockbuster and all - it's crazy to me how bonkers this was considered back in the day despite being almost entirely held back by its simplicity and formality. You've got almost two and a half hours to make a movie about alien robot vehicles who come to Earth and fuck shit up... and you decided to go with making most of it a rigorously exhausting expository bore? Yes it's racist and sexist and jingoistic and all that too, but that's a given with Bay. What isn't - however - is how much the action lacks any pop or clarity. There's a ton of impressive (for the time) CGI and no shortage of practical effects either but it's too shaky and overcut to really enjoy any of it. The first hour where this is a weird sci-fi/action comedy about a car that really wants to help Shia LaBeouf (who is excellent in this, btw) fuck Mega Fox is no joke worlds better than the flat action - which is tepidly amusing at best. And it's of course shameful how obviously oversexualized Fox's character is, but that's only made like 100 times worse by the fact that she's supposed to be like 16/17 in this. Not to mention the robot designs - and I realize I'm in the minority here - are ass ugly imo. Yes they're 'realistic' but they don't lend themselves to being very watchable especially during the fights. As a Bay defender, this was hugely disappointing. At least a lot of the jokes land?

That detective, is the right question.
In the year 2035 A.I. robots are an every part of life throughout the world, working public jobs in place of humans with three rules, number 1 being to protect human life. Most people trust these robots except for one man, detective Del spooner who has a dark past involving robots. Del takes on a case involving a possible suicide of the robotics founder/creator and believes a human like A.I. May be involved.
With help of a robot expert, spooner discovers a conspiracy that may endanger the human race.

This movie has a dark tone, some great cgi work but a story similar to previous movies like terminator and Extinction.

Starring Will Smith, Alan Tudyk, James Cromwell and Bridget Moynahan.

Just finished watching Pacific Rim Uprising, a review in two words would be utterly fantastic. Jaeger vs Jaeger, and Giant robot vs kaiju is always awesome.
I like how they have carried on considering the first movie was a stand alone set up experiment, to see if the audience would enjoy this new genre of film that is giant mecha science fiction. For veterans of the genre there are some nice intertextual links to be spotted especially towards the final scences.
Plotwise having the son of Pentecost being the main character makes as lot of sense. The only hole in the plot I can see is that there is no mention of what actually happened to the previous film's protagonist Ralleigh.
  I highly recommend the film.

I keep reading, it keeps tearing my heart out!!
I LOVE THIS SERIES!! But seriously, it seems to end on an event that tears my heart out every time! Prince Robot, his son and Petrichor are all trying to sell their stories and using magic, change themselves into another species (like you do - the ultimate witness protection programme), but of course nothing runs smoothly.
The Will lives up to his name (eventually!!), and the family seem happy at last. But that's OK, because the ending sorts that little detail out.
And Ghus is his lovely little self. If anything happens to him, I swear I will NOT be happy!
And there is going to be a year long hiatus!!! How can they do this to me??!!

I only started to watch this because I loved Robert Sheehan in Misfits and I thought it seemed like a similar show. It starts off quite slow in my opinion with the 'death' of the father and the reunion of the siblings but it quickly picks up! You learn what powers they have and how they affected them. You find out each characters background and why they turned out how they are. I particularly love Diego and his wholesome relationship with the 'mom' robot. I have to say though, I hated Vanyas character. I thought she was a whiny bitch and she quite literally ruins the whole thing. I understand why she was important though. Also, R.I.P Ben, the poor guy didnt even get enough screen time.
