I won this game from one of smash bombs competitions in exchange for a review. I wanted to wait until I'd finished it but I think I've played enough of it to give a review on it.
I didn't actually know that this game is a remake of an old game until I researched it, obviously as I didn't know this I also had never played the original. I did however, love spongebob as a teen (I'd probably still watch it now, if I had the chance) so he is a known cartoon for me.
The game itself is pretty good, you have to go around collecting golden spatulas, lost socks and as many shiny objects as you can carry (golden spatulas and shiny objects are needed to get into some zones) whilst at the same time killing many different robots and solving puzzles. The game is rated pegi 7 which is about right for this type of game, some parts of the game can be incredibly frustrating though especially if you're going for all the trophies, one part for example took me about 45 minutes just to get to a collectable. It's all good fun though and not to be taken too seriously, I look forward to completing the game.

Let me start by saying that I originally wasn't sure about this book. I had seen it on Netgalley a while back and loved the cover but after reading the description I just wasn't sure if it was something I would enjoy. I love fantasy and enjoy some sci-fi but humanoid clockwork type robots...not so sure. So I kept it on my radar but didn't request it until I read Mogsy's review on the bibliosanctum. I started it immediately and was so engrossed that I finished it in one day. It. Is. Amazing!

June is a character that I related to from the start. Her incessant curiosity and intelligence were refreshing and her love for her grandfather was endearing. I really enjoyed learning about Peter's story. The non linear storytelling, with flashbacks of his memories alternating with the present, was easy to follow. When Peter and June start working together the pacing really picks up and I couldn't put it down, I had to know what happened. The ending leaves room for a sequel but not with a cliffhanger, which is nice but I still want the sequel now lol. I really have no complaints about any part of this story. It's a wonderful adventure that makes you think. Anyone on the fence about this book like I was should just go ahead and read it, it's worth it.

**Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.**

2018 | Action, Sci-Fi
In short, Pacific Rim: Uprising is one of those sequels that does more of the same, but manages to take away something from what came before.

The first PR film is dumb silly fun - the movie equivalent of a kid getting his toys out and smashing them together.
Uprising is more or less the same, but a bit more on the boring side, with characters that aren't very likeable.

John Boyega heads up the cast, and he's ok enough, everyone surrounding him is a gallery of bland characters, I honestly can't remember any of their names, and I saw it earlier today!
There's no sense of urgency this time around. Del Toros first movie was silly for sure, but had a high stakes feeling to it.
Uprising feels like it was geared more towards children this time out, and it shows.

The plot is Hollywood sci-fi nonsense - something about the guy from Always Sunny being possessed by a Kaiju and infecting drones to attack the world and unleash a mega Kaiju - honestly, my attention wobbled more than once as you can probably tell. I could probably do with watching it again but I really don't want to.
Some of the action scenes were pretty fun soooo, yay, I guess?

Pacific Rim: Uprising is a film about monsters and robots kicking the crap out of each other - it shouldn't be this boring and forgettable, but here we are.

Cheers man. To be honest, I'm not really a massive fan of the first one, but at least it had a bit of heart and soul.
