A very good Rom-com re-uniting Tom & Meg again. They have done a few films together now including the similar Sleepless in Seattle. They have a great chemistry together on screen. This is well written and directed and quite funny too, without being too mushy. A kind of will they, won't feel to it, funny to see this was made when online chatrooms were just becoming quite popular. Worth seeing even if you avoid Rom-coms like your in-laws!

An average Rom-Com for me with quite a bit of teen comedy humour thrown in as well. It has some quite funny scenes set at the high school as the geeky kid who grew up, returns as an undercover journalist trying to fit in with the popular kids second time round.

The type of film that looks like it could have been made in a weekend. Quite cringey humour, then gets quite deep for a comedy. I'm not sure how it was pitched, much like the characters this Rom-com doesn't know where to sit.

"Tone, tone, tone. Even in the most touching moments, the movie never strays from the ridiculousness of Dustin Hoffman in panty hose, pancake makeup, a wig, and an exquisite Southern accent. And the heartfelt desperation of an out-of-work actor adds a perfectly acidic zing into what could have been a syrupy rom-com."

Funny cameo by Ed Sheeran
Very predictable (0 more)
As a big fan of the Beatles I was looking forward to watching this movie. Unfortunately after watching it I was left feeling disappointed. The first half was very good with a lot of funny moments such as Jack finding out what else has changed in the world and the cameo from Ed Sheeran. However what started out as a promising film quickly becomes a predictable rom-com. The best part of this film was the music which includes a lot of the Beatles greatest hits as Jack tries to recreate them himself. Overall I thought this was a fairly standard rom-com that was made better by having a lot of great music.

More drama than Rom-com, it's based around one small idea. If you have spent your whole life in just one relationship, how can you be sure they are right for you? Interesting question but the film as a whole feels uneven. It lacks chemistry and isn't particularly eventful. Feels more like a social comment on relationships in general.

"For when you need a sweet-hearted com-rom This book is an unlikely all-time favorite of mine—and it’s a study in emotional courage. The hero of this story just tries so hard. He gets it wrong over and over...but he never gives up. It’s a story that makes me laugh and genuinely cry every time."

"This novel is the queer rom-com of my dreams. The Prince of England falling in love with the son of the US president?? AND the president is a woman?? Yes please. This book is so engaging and fun to read, and just the perfect cozy escapism from everything going on in the world right now."

Sandra Bullock looks lovely as always but this film was very slow and dull. I just kept waiting for something to happen. Thought it might be a rom-com to start with but it was definitely a drama. Just so slow and predictable and nothing really happens. If you want a romantic drama watch the Notebook which also stars Gena Rowlands.

"Well I think we just have to have a shout out to the rom-com genre in there and it’s a perfect example of the two, you know, really lovable, flawed characters — perfectly flawed for one another. As my grandmother used to say, “There’s a lid for every pot.” So I think that out of that genre that’s probably my favorite."
