Okay, it is official... I am putting this book in my "did not finish" pile. Rohypnol, rape, murder, and horrible writing/characters these are a few of my least favorite things. I haven't put a book in this list in well... forever. I am creating a "did not finish" shelf just for this book.

1st, the characters are 1 dimensional. I made it to page 90 and I just had to stop reading. The characters fell very flat.

2nd, this book reads like a high schooler's wet dream. There is the threat of rape, rape, and well... lots of sex.

3rd, I felt like the writer decided to add "big words" just to feel like a good writer. It felt like the writer had to use a thesaurus constantly.

I really wanted to like this book. It is suspense/romance which is my favorite genre but it just fell flat.

This was the first regency romance book I've read in over a year where I've been focusing on the fantasy genre.

I'm very glad I read this book and it was filled with plenty of action, a thrilling tale of revenge and a Scottish accent to die for.

The writing and story had an easy-going flow to it that made the book finish quicker than I would have liked. Each character was written with a specific role in mind and there were no filler characters which was great.

Each character had their own individual flaws which were written to perfection and there wasn't anything that needed changing with the characters in this book. Sometimes characters are written too perfect and they have no faults of their own which makes it unbelievable even for fiction.

Overall, a good story with a solid plot and solid characters.

Thank you Dani Collins for sending over the book to me, and for your autograph! It's really precious to me!

As much as I love romance novels, this one is definitely at the top of my favourites.
For every romantic soul among us, this is a book that will lead you into an amazing world full of emotions, laughter, intelligent conversation and very explicit moments that will make you open the windows at home. My home felt too hot a few times ;)

It is a very good composed book, the story takes you in right from the very first chapter and I will save you all from spoilers, but I'll let you know that you will definitely love the ending and would want to know what happens after as well!

A must read for all of you that enjoy reading about love and happy ever afters!

Awix (3310 KP) rated The Red Turtle (2016) in Movies

The Red Turtle (2016)
The Red Turtle (2016)
2016 | Animation, Fantasy
Animated Belgo-Japanese allegorical fantasy is nice to look at and relaxing to watch. A man is washed up on a desert island after a storm, finds his attempts to leave are frustrated by a large crimson chelonian; after an attempt to kill the creature, he resolves to make friends, successfully bringing the turtle out of her shell (thanks, I'm here all week) - the two of them fall in love and have a family together.

As you can see, not short on the traditional 'WTF?!?!?' element of Studio Ghibli films, but it also possesses the typical virtues of being a really, really beautiful and well-told story. Maybe a touch under-powered story-wise, and it doesn't feel rushed even at only about 80 minutes long, but a finely-crafted and very pleasant film. The romance that HP Lovecraft never got around to writing.

THE festive romance
This is one of my absolute favourite festive books out there. It’s warm and snuggly and it is so cheerful that it makes me smile as soon as I open the book.

Joe and Clara are both wonderfully developed characters who steal your heart from their first introductions. There were little moments that got me giggling, and plenty of times where the novel was just purely heartwarming.

To me, this is what every festive novel should be. It is so feel-good and I love the way that every chapter counts down until Christmas. If I had the self-control, I would read a chapter a day through December but I know I would never be able to restrain myself that much!

This is definitely a Christmas book you have to experience.

Bit of a whirlwind
Honestly from the start to the end of this there was just so much drama and honestly I LOVED IT !?? It was the perfect thing to watch after watching me before you as even though they are love story's they are both so different and yet both so great.
The series follows the forbidden romance of a Russian noble and a lieutenant. But if you think this is just a rehash of the typical Romeo and Juliet think again. In this series the main characters battle against all odds to remain together. The only bad thing i could say is that it was so frustrating when something stopped them from being together ? i almost punched my pillow at one point ??.
I really recommend this to you guys to if nothing else try something new of course that's only if you like subtitles.?

Hello? Chris Hemsworth (0 more)
Will Smith would be proud?
Contains spoilers, click to show
Not going to lie. I only watched this to see Chris Hemsworth. He didn't disappoint. However, it is not even slightly on par with the first 3 Men in Black movies. Will Smith made those films what they are and it was upsetting to not see him there or even see the same quality of film. Some of the characters where great though. Penny? Absolutely adorable and by far the best thing about this movie. The action fight scenes were alright and the ending was adequate but what I hated the most, and what I hate about a lot of movies now is the forced romance. Why did they feel the need to add so much tension between Agent H and Agent M? They were a great team but they don't need to be together to show that...

In my top 5 favourite series'
I've read this book, and series so many times and I never get sick of it! I love Talia and Kael and their whole journey together. I love that I can be right there along with them and watch how the romance blossoms and get the butterflies along the way. Talia is such a strong character that I haven't really seen in any other books before. I love how she just transforms into the strong and beautiful woman we see in the last book. The twists and turns throughout the book are fantastic! Everytime we learn something new about a character we are suprised and no matter how many times I read it I will continue to be suprised! Chanda is a fantastic writer and I love her other series' too but this is by far my favourite.

I got this for two reasons - 1) it was free and 2) I like paranormal romance. I can quite honestly say that I'm very glad that I did and have sat down and read it in a couple of hours as I wanted to find out what happened!

I loved the storyline in it and even though I knew who the "traitor" was, it in no way diminished my enjoyment of the story as a whole. I loved how Phoebe's story was told throughout the book and how Aidan was trying to get information from her. The secondary characters in this book are also believable and funny. It also makes a very refreshing change to have the main female as scared, unsure and carrying physical scars without being a complete wuss.

Loved reading it and will definitely be keeping it!

Favourite character? Definitely Aiden!

I received this book from Entangled Publishing in return for a fair and honest review.

This is a complex and intricate science fiction story with a dash of romance thrown in for good measure. It is the second book in the series although it can be read as a standalone (as I have) and I don't feel that you lose too much by doing so. It also has a considerably large character list for you to keep track of. Traitor is quite a long book so you get a lot of book for your buck.

On the whole, this was an enjoyable read with lots of different opinions, points of view and action spots to keep you interested. It is well-written at a steady pace, building up to the climax. For lovers of Sci-Fi, I can definitely recommend it.
