"Seeing Ashes and Diamonds again after forty years, I realized how beautifully Wajda married his romantic flair and his unerring sense of history. Zbigniew Cybulski looks as timeless as Brando or Louise Brooks, his maimed glance between those sunshades accusing the postwar world of betrayal."

"Modern Romance, written and directed by and starring Albert Brooks, is my 2nd favorite comedy. Brooks’ masterful performance as the obsessively — if not historically — jealous boyfriend is so naked and so honest that it has no equal as an original take on the romantic comedy."

Sweet, romantic, inspiring for those wishing for a second chance at love. In general, I enjoyed the book and the story, but I wasn't necessarily riveted. Unfortunately, I don't believe "After The Rain" will stand out in memory, but it was a good read.

"As a person who enjoys movies about rich people with personal problems, I am obviously very fond of the collected works of Whit Stillman. This one, his first, is talky and romantic and features a baby-faced Chris Eigeman—that alone is worth the price of admission."
