"I remember watching this, stoned, while at university, and I think you kind of have to be stoned to watch it, because it’s so psychedelic and weird. I’ve always had a fascination with Jim Morrison and regularly I ask myself: “What would a female Jim Morrison do in this moment?”, because I like his commitment to the moment as a performer, and his shameless expression of his sexuality, which, as a woman, I think is a nice thing to exploit. I don’t know how I would feel watching this film now, not being stoned, but at the time it seemed like a really romantic portrayal of a poetic artist."

"This was the first thriller I ever saw—on our eleven-inch black-and-white TV set in the small living room of my parents’ home in the suburbs of Birmingham. It was the most romantic and exciting thing I had ever seen, and I can still get lost in it today. The 39 Steps is the blueprint for all the classic Hitchcock films that would follow. Sexy stars, fantastic locations, and quirky cliff-hanger scenes that you want to watch over and over. In this film, it is the Mr. Memory scene that I look forward to most, and every time I see it, it still makes me jump!"

I was really getting into this... though I can't for the life of me get Integrity's feelings against going for something romantic with a certain fae? It's pretty obvious he wants to at least sleep with you if not more!

And considering the romance aspect of this isn't even the main part of the storyline, I have to admit that i was pretty intrigued by the rest of it too. I have a very big urge to go and buy book 2 so i can see what Integrity is planning with her gang and to see if anything is going to happen between her and her love interest.

I cried so much while reading this; sometimes the silent ones, sometimes the snotty nose, blotchy faced unpretty ones. It hit me pretty hard but I loved it so much.

The story starts with a bang, one that I wasn't expecting and one that had pretty severe consequences for Ella. It's got such a serious plotline but it was pretty romantic too. I loved our main characters, mainly Cinder because he was determined to stick with Ella but Ella had a lot more to deal with and wasn't sure how to do it.

This is my second book by the author and I look forward to reading more of her work.

"Well, I’m definitely a hopeless romantic and Titanic is one of my favorite movies. It basically came out when I was born, but my mom [showed me] Titanic when I was about — I want to say like eight, nine years old. It’s one of the movies I can never get tired of. I could watch it all the time. Actually, I had a really geeky moment: the make up artist that worked on this last film that I worked on — she had worked on Titanic, and I was like, “No way!” I freaked out and got to see a lot of behind-the-scenes pictures. I was totally fan-girling."

"I read this book in high school when it was first published. It had the reputation of being “dirty.” It did not disappoint: I was all of 14. It was also deliciously funny. It still is. Its status is secure and I doubt there’s a “Best” list it’s not on. It’s wildly romantic, scathingly satiric of middle-class Americans as only a European aristocrat can see us, and ultimately deeply moving. Lolita is the light of everyone’s loins. Humbert Humbert’s despair is anyone’s who has loved and lost in vain. Nabokov “gets” America and Americans. He is one of the great writers in English and it wasn’t even his first language."

I enjoyed this. It is exactly as described: a mystery/romantic comedy.

She may not have been the P.I. in the world in this, but it gave me plenty of laughs when she fell out of the tree and got chased by a man being investigated for fraud.

I also liked the romance aspect of it. Nick was not going to give up in his pursuit of Addison and Addison really should have just ripped his clothes off all those times she wanted to. Pity they never actually got round to doing the deed; interruptions were a plenty.

Definitely going to read the rest of the series!

3.5 stars.

I'm not normally a fan of romantic comedies as such and this one didn't make me laugh, I thought it was a bit ridiculous in places but putting that aside I did like the romance part. Though admittedly, I didn't quite get that part to start with either.

Ben just seemed really determined for her to fall for him and they'd literally only met that night at the club. I had to keep reading just to find out why Ben had fallen for her so easily. And the reason surprised me a little but why not?

I may read more of Jo Watson's books.
