Under the Grave ( The Gravedigger book 4)
By Willie E. Dalton
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Peace is all Hel has longed for since she died, and finally, she feels like she’s found it… that is until three unexpected visitors ruin her romantic evening with Soren.
Soon, the safety of the home she’s carefully crafted begins to crash around her, and once more she’s jerked out of everything she knows and thrown into a world of nothingness—a world she has to create and rule over.
Starting from scratch and bound to the threads of her fate, she learns she can’t run from her destiny, but just maybe she can weave it into a design of her liking.
If she can adapt and accept this world of new faces and new rules, she will be more powerful than she ever imagined. If not, it’s not only her soul she has to worry about, but the souls of all who come to her. Either way, it’s going to cost her.

!!! Spoiler!!!
This was the best one yet! This series has gotten better with each book. I loved her new realm and the new man in her life. Soren I just feel sad for but it’s all so good and I’m excited to see what Hel can do now she’s a mega goddess!!!

It’s Hard to Imagine a More Romantic Story
Orphan Anne Shirley is thrilled when she is sent to live with the Cuthbert siblings, Matthew and Marilla. The problem is, they were looking for an orphan boy, someone who could help Matthew around the farm. Still, they begin to fall for Anne and agree to let her stay. This book follows her adventures of the next five years as she grows to become a sixteen-year-old. What will happen over that time?

I’ve never read this well-loved classic, and I decided it was time to fix that. It came out in 1908, so some of the language is dated, although there is nothing offensive here. I think I needed to be a pre-teen girl to fully enjoy this book. There were certainly parts I did enjoy, but overall, I found the book more episodic than a real novel. That tends to happen to me when a novel covers such a span of time. Also, the events in the second half of the book got to be too much for me. Having said that, I can see the appeal. The characters definitely grew on me, and I laughed at various events along the way. I’m curious enough about what happens next that I might go on with the series.

WINTER'S HEART is a standalone novella about a prophecy, a girl, and a tiger. Who doesn't love a story like that?

Whilst there are romantic elements to this story, it isn't the only part. Lisa has been foretold for years as the saviour of the village, even though she has no magic to show for it. When killings start happening, it appears the white tiger is back and Lisa must kill it. Of course, it's not that simple.

I read this book in one sitting and enjoyed most of it. There didn't seem to be any punishment (or explanation) for Herk's behaviour towards Lisa and it was just glossed over after she had a 'word' with him.

The rest of it was better. I loved the descriptions of the village and the forests, especially that of the tiger. I would love to see a follow on from this story, seeing how Lisa and Elijah get on and how their budding romance develops.

A quick coffee break book that I definitely recommend.

Heart of the Hunter ( Dragon Chalice book 1)
By Tina St.John (Lara Adrian)

🌶🌶🌶

Ariana of Clairmont would risk anything to save her kidnapped brother, a quest she knows is fraught with peril. Her only ally is Braedon le Chasseur, a formidable knight with a mysterious past, whose scarred face and brooding nature mask a soul filled with pain. Ariana fears this dangerous man and the secrets he strives to conceal - but Braedon's touch is pure seduction, his kiss a potent lure that tempts her into a passion she is powerless to resist.

Once known as The Hunter, now haunted by a dark legacy he struggles to deny, Braedon lives in a world of shadow and isolation - until he is thrust together with an innocent beauty in need of his protection. Embarking on a journey that will lead them to a legendary treasure, Braedon will be forced to confront old enemies and the stunning secret of his true nature - or risk losing Ariana and the only happiness he has ever known. . . .

I really enjoyed this book. It was historical romance with a bit of magic thrown in. It was spicy in a hot romantic way. I love Lara Adrian she never fails to bring us a good love story with the type of villains you hate forever. Recommended!
