This was a really fun thriller, honestly! Just one of those creepy and mysterious reads that kept me guessing most of the entire time. It's told from the point of view of both Adam and Amelia and interspersed with Amelia's letters that she writes to Adam each year on their anniversary (but does not let him read). We also have a third point of view, from a mysterious other character. How does everyone fit together? Enjoy trying to figure it out!

Everyone is keeping secrets in this mystery, leading to a wild ride. The setting is amazing, a cold, dark, and snowy atmospheric Scotland that serves as another character in our twisty thriller. Every thing seems ominous and foreboding, as Adam and Amelia traverse the snowy countryside and mysterious house they are staying in.
Overall, this is a great and thrilling mystery, which keeps you guessing. It's a surprising page-turner, that also delves into the themes of marriage and writing. 4+ stars.

Jordan has his mask firmly in place, with his friends, his family, and anyone else who might see him. That changes when he's behind his own doors though, and the state of his motorhome reflects just how dark things are for him. A light in the darkness is a connection he makes with Miles. From a conversation about identifying a plant, these two become everything to each other in a way that is both hot and romantic.
There is a content warning at the beginning of this, and I appreciated that. I found the descriptions of depression, the hopelessness, the lethargy, the feeling of emptiness, even the side effects of some medications, exceedingly well-written. Some days even nothing is too much, and most people I know who fight depression have had their own 'day and time', including myself.
This story hit home in so many ways, and yes, I was in tears. I loved how Jordan and Miles were there for each other, and their friends were there for them both. I was ecstatic when I saw that everything went both ways (no spoilers!) and the actions that were taken.
This is a story of love and support, of friendship and romance, of being so low you are drowning and then the heart-rending daily drag of trying to fight your way back to feeling 'normal', whatever that is. An amazing story that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, so long as you are in the right place to read it.

I loved this story! It is the third or fourth book by this author I have read and, just like the others, I was gripped by the story and the characters. The descriptions of the world Lara lives in are crisp and clear, defining the current state of affairs for her without hitting the reader over the head!
Fleming is a name that is dropped (which I loved!) as well as Edward and Wallis. There was also a hint about Sandra's background which was perfect and I would love the know who the inspiration was for her part. How the story was woven around these characters and situations astounds me. I found it to be phenomenally written and perfectly paced.
If I had one bad thing to say it would be that my romantic little heart was desperate for an official, rock-solid HEA for Lara. Don't get me wrong, it was alluded to, but I want to know for sure. In fact, not just for Lara, but for Bill, Phil, Miguel, Bea, Hector, Sandra... do you want me to continue? Suffice it to say, this book was outstanding but I'm not ready to let go of these characters yet. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me and I can't wait for the next book by this amazing author.
