I heard this was originally meant to be a short story. I believe that 100%
I liked the character and I like what this book stood for and all of that, I really did. I just can't get over how long it took me to read this short little thing, so I'm going to focus on that.
This would've been a great book if it were 50-60 pages long. But it's nearly 200! It just dragged on and on, so much so that I could hardly remember the enjoyable thing I had just read 20 minutes prior. The length ruined it that much!
I'm curious to know what this story would've been like if Gaiman had kept it as the intended short story. Probably much better. Probably.

        Captivating...

Bernie Madoff. What can you say? His Ponzi scheme was so complex, far-reaching and of epic proportions, it ruined many people's lives. Tore their life savings from them based on the betrayal of trust.
"Rain Man' director, Barry Levinson, successfully captures the intrigue, suspense, and also the interesting family dynamics in this compelling true story.
If the family dynamics are to be believed as his wife and sons did not know about any of the lies and fraudulent trading, they were either incredibly naive, incredibly stupid or just living the good life..
De Niro gives one of his most memorable recent performances and almost makes you sympathize with him. The actual reporter who wrote the book plays herself well in the film also.
Was Madoff a sociopath?

                    book description:
Mousy housewife Kiki Lowenstein has two great loves: scrapbooking and her young daughter, Anya. But her happy family album is ruined when her husband, George, is found naked and dead in a hotel room. As Kiki tracks down George's murderer, she discovers his sordid secret life.
Cruel taunts by George's former flame compel Kiki to spout an unwise threat. When the woman is murdered, Kiki's scissor-sharp words make her the prime suspect. She could be creating scrapbook keepsakes for the rest of her life-behind bars. Supported by her loyal friends, along with a little help (and a lot of stomach flutters) from the dashing Detective Detweiler, can Kiki cut the true killer out of the picture and design a new life for herself and Anya?

Seriously entertaining, essential for any movie fan

Currently on episode 102, I'm ashamed to say that I only recently discovered Skip To The End. It's now the only podcast I listen to, eagerly awaiting the release of each new episode. I don't really have time to listen to any other podcasts anyway... but that's not the point...
The 3 presenters are all very knowledgeable, all very funny, and have a great rapport with each other. Each week, a new movie release is reviewed and dissected and a classic movie gets rewatched for analysis and discussion. Regular features such as the top 3 (top 3 moments that ruined a movie, top 3 anti-heroes) and the mass debate all add up to make this a thoroughly enjoyable podcast for any movie fan. Highly recommended.

        Look at this Photograph

8mm- is a underrated mystery thriller, it was directed by Joel Schumacher, yes the person who destoryed and ruined batman two years before this movie came out. Joel Schumacher is better with mysterious and thrillers than Batman. Anyways the plot:
Private detective Tom Welles (Nicolas Cage) lives a normal life with his wife (Catherine Keener) and young daughter, until he receives a startling new case. A widow named Mrs. Christian (Myra Carter) has found what appears to be a snuff film among her late husband's belongings, and she wants Welles to determine if the movie is real or fake. Welles heads to California, where a video store employee (Joaquin Phoenix) helps him infiltrate the dangerous and depraved world of illegal porn movies.
Its suspenseful, horrorfying, twisted and overall a good movie.
