Interesting story with supernatural elements
Follows several families in a small German town, as you get further in you see that three generations of each family have been/are involved.
Subtitles or dubbed english (1 more)
That end of the last episode made it seem like next season would be even more far fetched and maybe not in a good way.
Interesting story that follows three generations of several families in a small German town. It’s definitely a show you’ll have to pay attention to or you’ll get lost. My only concern is the end of the last episode, seems like it might be headed in the direction of a bad syfy movie. Just have to wait and see.

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

Admittedly I am normally really sceptical when it comes to movies on the Syfy channel but I've got to confess I loved watching this movie. Having being besotted with all things King Arthur forever I was happy to see a film with a different spin on the legend. Alright if you can get past the cheesy graphics and notably bad costumes at times for Morganna Le Fay and Mordred in modern day Bangkok it is a pretty class movie. When the descendant of Arthur Pendragon doesn't believe in the stories he's descended from the line of Arthur it all kicks off from there. Yet the best part is when Mordred has an opportunity to redeem himself for a lifetime of mistakes.

Absolutely phenomenal
I have a huge love for Sci Fi programmes and this one is up there with some of the best ever made.
What makes this stand out is that you dont have to love sci fi to enjoy this TV series. The story and characters make the whole experience so engaging you just want more. The intrigue and deception involved in the story and characters arcs and development throughout make it a joy to watch as you want to see what will happen with the characters next.
I wouldnhighlu recommend this to anyone, it's worth a try and is a must for ant sci fi fans out there. Cannot wait for season 4 and so happy that it got picked up after SyFy made the huge mistake of dropping it.

So, yeah, bit of a snoozer this one! Art was fab tho'! I find Joe Benitez J. Scott Campbell, no contest. Benitez brings the same gorgeous detail to this volume as he did for the first one. No character, not even Lady Mechanika, is "sexed up", allowing for character development and depth.

The story, unfortunately, did not hold as well as expected. I was great through the first two issues, feeling like I was witnessing an Indiana Jones-esque adventure. However, by the fourth issue, I felt the series had tanked. And the reveal (no spoilers, promise) of who the villains were made it seem like a cheap-ass SyFy Channel movie!

I have the third volume in my queue to read. Hopefully, it will not disappoint, as the first volume was all aces! My advice: skip it!

Zombie Tidal Wave (2019)
Zombie Tidal Wave (2019)
2019 | Action, Horror
A zombie film made for the SyFy Channel starring Ian Ziering you say? Sign me up.

While out fishing a group of friends catch something sinister. They haul a putrid looking dead body out of the water and very quickly realise that it isn't quite as dead as they'd have hoped. That body is the first in an army of the undead that takes over the town as an unexpected tidal wave gives them a helping hand.

Is this film bad? Yes. Is it an entertaining watch? Also yes, but on that SyFy Original movie level of yes.

Bless Ian Ziering and his movie decision. In Zombie Tidal Wave (I really love saying the whole title) he plays Hunter, a fisherman who's about to leave town for a fresh start. Hunter is everything you hope he will be. I also noticed on IMDb that Ziering has a story credit... well colour me surprised... it's a super-duper amazing tale about zombies by the sea.

I'm not going to insult you by saying that this would win any awards, we all know it wouldn't even without watching it. It wouldn't even win a Razzie, that's how good it is! Everything about this is in fact distinctly average, apart from the following...

That story... it's got a great idea with twists and turns that "make sense". It could almost have been a serious zombie film if someone at some point hadn't gone "You know what? We need more." "More what?" "Everything."

Those special effects... are terrible. I have never seen such badly CGId water, and that's something you should take seriously coming from someone who has seen as many made for TV movies as I have.

The consistency... there are facts about locations and objects that the film just throws out the window, there are some continuity errors as well... but while that sounds like a bad thing it's really an essential part of the enjoyment/

This couldn't be a typical review so to complete it I just want to share with you some of my notes/interactions with the film, I'll include some cryptic highlights to look out for too.

- The zombie that must have unnaturally long legs or be standing on a zombie pyramid.
- Synchronised swimming zombies.
- I snort laughed so hard at a big reveal point that I nearly choked on my breakfast.
- A stunning Bond girl moment that might have been the best shot of the film.
- The different densities of glass.
- The Sharknado reference.
- ... and the result of that reference.
- Douchebag and his girlfriend.
- Family banter with a zombie.
- "Reinforcements".
- Zombie's styling flip flops.

The Descent Part 2 (2009)
The Descent Part 2 (2009)

Should never have been made
I’ve put off watching this film for years as I resented the fact that it had ever been made, and it turns out I probably should have kept on putting it off. The original Descent was brilliant, but this sequel is just plain awful.

For starters, it looks cheap. The entire thing from the cinematography, the visual effects (the blood looks like fruit juice), and the look of the monsters just looks so horrendous and as bad, if not worse, than a SyFy original film. Then there’s the plot itself, which is so ridiculously stupid it’s laughable. It completely ignores the ambiguous and very good ending from the original and uses a cliched overused trope (memory loss) to get Sarah back into the caves. The new characters are underdeveloped and cliched stereotypes (the brass moronic cop who can’t leave his gun behind). And then there’s the fact that it seems an identical copy of the original, using the same scenes, ideas (seeing through the video camera) that were used in the first film. This loses any of the suspense and atmosphere generated in the first film, and it doesn’t use the music to any good effect whatsoever. It’s not scary, it’s not interesting and it looks horrendous. Avoid at all costs.
