Just watched is it as good the first one yes probably better than the first one especially cause of salma Hayek who had a small role in the first one gets more screen time in the sequel now to both jackson and Reynolds the chemistry between them is still there. Its madness destruction done for laughs and highly entertaining couple of hours

Excellent
This movie was exactly what you'd expect from a pairing of Reynolds and Jackson. Great acting, great action and hilarious comedy. The flashback scenes had me rolling! These two were great together and everyone was great in their parts, as well. It even has a couple good twists in it ans some serious beauties in Elodie Yung and Salma Hayek!(both great actresses) I definitely recommend this one to any action/comedy fans. Worth a watch!

Mildly disturbing, beyond crude
There are very few films out there where the cringe factor outstrips the comedy, but this definitely hits it. While I was mildly impressed by its all star cast (Edward Norton, Salma Hayek, Kristin Wiig, Seth Rogen), I was also slightly distressed by its ridiculous storyline, especially the last Sausage Party scene - which says it all. The language and content goes beyond South Park levels of inappropriate. Expect sexism, racism, rampant sex scenes, and drug use - in animated form. It's definitely not Disney.

I am a huge fan of both leads in the movie and I thought that the trailers leading up to this were hilarious, so why did I feel let down with this one?
I reckon I need to temper my expectations more in future and not go in expecting anything of significance. The vast majority of the jokes in the movie were already shown in the trailers leading up to the film's release and really the only character that felt fresh and genuinely cracked me up, was Salma Hayek's character. If you like these actors you will have a fairly forgettable good time with this one, but if not feel free to give this a skip.

I saw an early screening of this almost a month ago and I had no idea what this was about, but I really liked some of the actors Salma Hayek and Alexander Skarsgard, so I went. The actors and their performances are what kept me entertained. There were some funny parts, but the whole story line of building a high frequency line was a bit strange and in the end no one got the big payday. It was anticlimactic. So if you like these actors than check it out on home video, but not in the theaters since i think it's only in a few theaters anyways.

Finally watched today three weeks later was it worth the wait yes for me it has everything a marvel movie drama action romance. as I knew enough about the Etenals thru the comics as created by Jack kirby in the 1970s and to finally see them on the big played by the likes salma Hayek and angelina Jolie who I thought were under used could have done with more screen time but that didn't effect my enjoyment of the movie at all. Overall good start to the Eternals here's hoping for a sequel and more on kit Harringtons character I got a feeling I know where he's headed

Sequel to 2017s 'The Hitman's Bodyguard', in which Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L Jackson and Salma Hayek all reprise their roles from that earlier film as the Bodyguard Michael Bryce, the assassin Darius Kincaid and that assassin's wife Sonia Kincaid.

This picks up relatively soon after The Hitman's Bodyguard (in which time around Bryce had to protect and deliver Kincaid to the International Criminal Court where he was to testify), with Bryce on vacation until that rest is interrupted by Sonia.

Cue a quick (and foul mouthed) tour of Italy as the trio race to stop a Greek millionaire (played by the Spanish actor Antonio Banderas) from bringing the EU to its knees by crippling it's communications.

Forgettable dross, really.

I've lost track of how many Marvel movies there are - we must be into our 20s at least by now!

And, unfortunately, I found this one of the weakest so far, despite the 'star power' that it includes in its cast (most woefully the massively underused Salma Hayek or Angelina Jolie), with its large cast of central character - 10, I think - all on the earth since millennia BC, all un-aging (and the inspiration for our myths and legends) and all massively bored.

Which, unfortunately, is how I felt for large parts of the movie - it actually took me several attempts to make it the whole way through (watched in Disney+).

I've heard it works better the second time around, once you know a few key plot points and details, but I'm not in any hurry for a rewatch,

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard picks up relatively soon after The Hitman’s Bodyguard. Ryan Reynolds’ Michael Bryce attempts to take a sabbatical after the events of the first film. His sabbatical doesn’t last long, when Sonia, played by Salma Hayek, crashes his vacation to ask for his help to save her husband from the mob. After they locate Darius Kincaid, the crew gets involved in this ridiculous international situation with Antonio Banderas, playing a Greek dude named Aristotle. Aristotle is angry that the EU kept sanctions on Greece, so he decides to knock out Europe’s interwebs. It is as dumb as it sounds.
The comedy trio of Reynolds, Hayek, and Jackson is amusing, and helps move the film along. The plot is silly, and predictable, but overall enjoyable. One of the funniest parts was when Morgan Freeman made an appearance in an unexpected way as Senior. I liked that there was a little bit of Sonia’s backstory, and we got to see some of her previous cons.
If you watch the first film, right before seeing this one, as I did, you can laugh at all the references back to the first. That being said, some of the jokes were disgustingly crass, particularly when Sonia talks about attempting to get pregnant, and it was too much. Also, the use of the word Mother F-cker was so excessive, it just became annoying. While I liked having more Hayek in the film, she flips out way too often for it to be funny. Another issue I had was the use of multiple dream sequences. It’s funny the first time, but not after that.
This is the first big, dumb, fun action movie to grace us with its presence since theaters opened up, and it was a good start to the barrage of big, dumb, fun action movie season.

Some great laugh out loud moments (0 more)
No tension in the thriller elements (1 more)
Some shoddy special effects.
A movie that’s a pain in the A-double-dollar sign.
Struck-off bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) is plagued with nightmares about his failures, brought about by his nemesis Darius Kincaid (Samuel L Jackson) and his potty-mouthed wife Sonia (Salma Hayek). On doctor’s orders, he ‘retires’ from the business. But when Europe’s infrastructure is threatened by Greek megalomaniac Aristotle Papdopolous (Antonio Banderas) he is rudely dragged away from his briefly peaceful life and pitched back into utter mayhem.

Positives:
- As a comedy thriller, it does pass the '6 laughs test' in terms of the 'comedy' element. Some of these are minor chuckles. A few are really good belly laughs.

- Among these are some of the outrageous tirades of Salma Hayek: her accent makes some of the dialogue unintelligible, but given its X-rated nature, that's not necessarily a bad thing! As a mid-50's actress (Oh God - - don't tell her I mentioned her age!), Ms Hayek indeed has an arrestingly attractive form.

- Seeing Antonio Banderas and Morgan Freeman on the screen is never anything other than a positive. (Although Banderas is like Sean Connery in failing to tailor his natural accent to any role he's ever in!)

Negatives:
- A general problem I have with 'comedy thrillers' is that the comedy nearly always negates any of the thrills. Ryan Reynolds is not playing Deadpool in this one, although he might as well be doing so based on the number of times he is hit by cars and other solid objects. The result is that although it has the trappings of a Bond or a Bourne - exotic locations (here, mostly Italian ones) ; exotic woman; car chases; heavily-armed henchmen; huge explosions - it delivers none of the tension or excitement. When matched with some rather dodgy post-shoot special effects, the effect is generally underwhelming.

- If there was an award for the clumsiest movie title of 2021, we may already have a winner.

Summary Thoughts on "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard": Sequels are very occasionally better. Often they are much worse. This one, I have to say, delivers very much "more of the same". Given that the writer/director team of Tom O'Connor and Patrick Hughes are in the driving seat, that's not much of a surprise. The shtick is mildly diverting, occasionally downright funny, but quickly outstays its welcome. The 100 minute run time felt, for me, much longer.

Looking back at my 2017 review of the first film, I think I was being over-kind giving it 6/10. I think this is neither better nor worse. So if you want to average the two and give each 5/10, I wouldn't object! But, again, it's one I will struggle to remember much about in a few month's time.
