Stephen Chbosky is a Genius.
A very sweet, coming of age film with a bitter twist at the end.
Logan Lerman is a very believable actor and from the beginning I am on his side, to do well, to succeed in love and life. I would have loved to be Charlie's friend.
Emma Watson in my opinion, is perfection personified. She plays Sam very well.
Paul Rudd plays Mr Anderson - and he is a shining star in this already amazing cast, downplayed and lovable.

Each episode focuses on a different character
Smart, well-cast and refreshing series, you're bound to love at least one of the characters. Made it to my top 3 series, can't wait for the next season

Funny but without actually trying to be funny, each character is widely different from the other. Sam and Coco are polar opposites,Sam is an activists and constantly aims to prove that she is 'black-enough' even though she's dating a white guy, whereas Coco tries to break away from all the stereotypes associated with her complexion by opting to associate herself with just white friends (Coco and The Marshmallows). I loved the series because it covered pretty much every background possibly, ended up binge watching it over 2 days!

Charlie played by Logan Lerman is a wallflower, your atypical socially awkward teen watching life pass him by from the sidelines. That is until he starts a new year of school when he meets Sam played by Emma Watson and Patrick (Ezra Miller) two very free spirited older students and their friends. They help Charlie discover love, friendship and music, encourage him to be the writer he can be, and give him life. But then it's time for them to move on for college, and the thoughts that Charlie has been keeping inside about his aunt threaten to spill over and take away his newfound confidence

Home on the Range was a nice change for me to read. It had little romance. It did it through family then set it all on romance like normal romance books. Ruth Logan Herne doe a wonderfully good job with her book.
This book is based on a single father raising his two daughters. Will he better than his father Sam Stafford. Nick wants to outdo his father and learn it hard to do. Being there for his girls is more important than it is being a ranch hand or owner.
Nick got to deal with this oldest daughter anger and to do that he goes to start therapy to help his daughter. He learns a lesson as well as help out a woman named Elsa as well. There seems to be secrets and twist and turns that ever page turned from binging to end. There seems to be forgiven and courage throughout the book. Will they get what needed or will it all fall apart?

There's something about Tijan's books that leaves me wondering what I've just read. The same thing happened with Broken & Screwed 1 and 2.
That's not to say that's a bad thing. I did like this. There was just so much going on and people getting together with everyone that I kind of lost the plot a little.
Then the Mason and Sam thing just kind of appeared between one page and the next, it might not have done but that's how it seemed to me. They did make quite a nice couple but I didn't quite get Mason a lot of the time.
Logan on the other hand, I loved. He's crazy but he's loyal and protective of his family.
As for everyone else...well, they're kinda not important. Not in the grand scheme of the book. Though I grew to like Nate too.
I guess I'll have to continue the series to find out what will happen next now, too.

Welcome to the paradise island of Banoi, a luxury, tropical island where you can relax and not worry about anything. That is until a mysterious epidemic started to spread, an epidemic that brings the dead back to life as flesh eating zombies.
Dead Island: The Book is the novelisation of the video game of the same name (Dead Island).
The first couple of chapters introduce us to the four main protagonists of the game: Sam B, Logan and Purna meet on the plane one the way to Banoi and Xian Mei is the receptionist who books them in to the hotel. The we are treated to the first of many scenes that will be familiar the anyone who has played the game, a concert with Sam B as the main act, followed up by a zombie outbreak.
The story follows the four main protagonists and the people they meet as they travel around the island in search for help, a cure or a way off the island. On their way they must work out who they can trust and how to deal with those they can't.
Dead Island the book almost follows the first game but not riptide so the ending is slightly different, there also seemed to be more guns but that may just be because the narrative is more compressed in the novel as there are a lot less side quests.

Seduced by Shark Shifters II: Logan's Tail (By the Water #2) by Rafe Jadison
Logan's Tail is the second book in this series, and I can honestly say it didn't happen the way I thought it would! Logan is Sam's younger brother, and is sent to Suncoast to find out what's going on with his brother by his father. Not only that, but his father has also signed him up for a writing course without his knowledge. This means that he has to leave his best friend, Tom, behind which is more painful that he thought. When he arrives, he goes for a swim to relax, and meets up with a couple of people outside the roped off area. It is when he meets them again later on that the fun really starts! Like I said, this one didn't go the way I was expecting, but it was a thrilling read just the same. There is a lot of history explaining Logan and Tom's friendship so you know just how hard it is for them to be in different places. Sam and the twins are here, but obviously don't play as big a part as they did in their book.
This was exceedingly well written, with plenty of action, and no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. The pace was smooth and the tension real. I can't wait to see where this is going. Definitely recommended by me.

I firmly believe that this is one of the best movies on the face of the planet. Anyone who knows me and knows my reviews knows how much it bothers me when film adaptations are so bad or so off or they just lose everything the book had. The exact opposite happens here. I think what makes this movie so good and so well put together is that it's still Stephen's story. He wrote the book, then the screenplay, then he directed it so it was his entire vision coming to life on screen and it worked. I think if anyone else would've directed or wrote the script, it wouldn't have translated so well.
Additionally, this cast is phenomenal. Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman, Kate Walsh, Paul Rudd, it just works. There are some parts from the book that didn't make it to the screen and that definitely bummed me out - I wish we could've seen Bill and Charlie's relationship more because it was really important in the book and it provided a lot for Charlie in terms of safety and comfort. I also wish some of the lines were verbatim. When Sam gets mad at Charlie after truth or dare, in the book she says, "what the fuck is wrong with you?" while in the movie she says, "what the hell is wrong with you?" I know that it's not a huge difference but I think that would've landed so much better. Also when Charlie defends Patrick. In the book, he says, "If you ever do this again, I'll tell everyone and I'll tell everyone for real. If you come after him again, I'll blind you." or something along those lines and I think that would've been great, especially with how low and solid Logan gave the line in the film. Just small things like that, I wish would've made it to screen.
Regardless, this film and this story are incredible and worth watching at least once for everyone. The same goes for the book. A must-read.

I'm a big cowboy romance fan, so I was excited to grab this one to review. Ruth Logan Herne was a new to me author and the synopsis of the story sounded intriguing. So, I settled in for the day/night and read through nearly to the end (then I got tired so HAD to go to sleep so my CNA job wouldn't fall to pieces the next day!), but quickly picked it back up and finished it the next morning. It was that good. I loved every part of this story wholly and it will be with me forever! This is a book that I will be sharing with all who want a wonderful, inspiring read!
Colt, Angelina, Nick and Sam, along with the other characters in the story, really gripped my heart. I loved watching Colt and his changes in life after leaving his city life to come home to his country family ranch. Angelina, bless her, I loved her character! Seeing her interact with Colt was a refreshing part of the story! These two were perfectly chiseled to be just the right amount of flawed.
I can't give this book less than 5 stars! It's worthy of so much more. It had me twisted up inside and had me falling in love at every turn. From start to finish, this book is epically created and has the perfect amount of inspirational faith and hope woven among the pages. I can't wait to read more about these beautiful characters in book 2! Well done, Ms. Herne! The Perks of Being a Wallflower is based upon the best selling novel written by Stephen Chbosky and published in 1999. The film is directed by the author himself who makes the entire film follow the epistolary style novel very well. The film brings to light the struggles of an awkward adolescent boy named Charlie (Logan Lerman, Percy Jackson & the Olympians) and his struggles with trying to cope with the recent death of his best friend who has committed suicide and the not so recent death of his beloved aunt. While coping with both deaths Charlie also has to try his hardest to get through his first day of high school.
Charlie has a tough time making friends being shy and introverted. This definitely doesn’t help on his first day when the only friend he makes is his English teacher Mr. Anderson (Paul Rudd, I Love You Man). Though in his shop class he notices one very outgoing yet somewhat flamboyant senior Patrick (Ezra Miller) who ends up taking Charlie under his wing and inducts him into “the island of misfit toys”. Charlie becomes enamored with a pixie haired beauty named Sam (Emma Watson, Harry Potter) who is Patrick’s step-sister. She is involved with a college boy but soon finds that the path she is on will soon lead down a different direction, possibly with Charlie. Though Charlie is a freshman and has never been able to feel close to anybody, his new group of friends become somewhat of a family and together they are able to overcome the struggles that adolescents are faced with today.
This film is full of great actors with appearances by Joan Cusack, Tom Savini and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) and many others. The film hit kind of close to home as I, and many others, I’m sure, can relate to some of the same issues that had to be faced. That is why this is such a great film. I suppose that is why the story was so moving to me. I almost had a small case of anxiety remembering my high school days as a “wallflower” or a “misfit”. While the story is a roller coaster of emotions it is very well paced and has an amazing soundtrack that follows the story. The film will bring a lot of different emotions to the surface and will tug at the heartstrings which all great films must do. I usually take notes during a film that I am reviewing and at certain times I noticed myself not writing anything as I was entirely enthralled with the film. The acting is great and portrays all the characters of the story very well. This was a great film for Emma Watson to grow as more of a dramatic actress as apposed to her role as Hermione Granger though at times you could hear her British accent come through. This film is a must see! PG-13,103mins long.
