Considered a classic, nice idea done many times since and better in my opinion. Starring a young Tom Hanks, maybe if a saw it as a kid it would have been more fun, but now it just looks a bit dated. It was ok at times but I wouldn't call it a classic by any means.

Such a great film!
When I first saw this I didn't know it was a musical. The music pulled me in from the moment it started. The music just builds and builds through out the whole movie. The sound track to this movie is just as amazing too. I highly recommend.

Loved it
I 100% loved this book. I couldn't wait to read it every since I saw how absolutely beautiful the cover was, and once I started I couldn't put it down. Lots of mystery surrounds the Hazelwood, and it was a great experience to go on the journey with Alice as she pieces everything together.

"Breaking the Waves, I saw that when I was — and this was ill-advised [laughs] — I was in Bucharest, alone with the flu. I don’t know what possessed me to put that in to watch, but I think you could imagine it was pretty devastating. It’s so raw and amazing, and Emily Watson is one of my favorite actresses."

"Another brilliant adaptation, this time of a Davis Grubb novel (a bestseller). It’s a gothic fairytale of childhood, full of shadows and silhouettes and countless images that linger in your head forever after. I first saw this as a kid, and the stupendously terrifying Robert Mitchum (as a murderous “man of god”) still hasn’t left my haunted unconscious."

"I saw this film in high school and I watch and re-watch it now like it’s an old friend. It’s about this very specific debutante culture in Manhattan, but because the protagonist is the outsider, we feel like it’s our movie, too. We’re the outsider who has a crush on the incredible, Molly Ringwald-esque Carolyn Farina."
