Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Quilt Me!: Using Inspirational Fabrics to Create Over 20 Beautiful Quilts in Books
Nov 9, 2017 (Updated Nov 9, 2017)
A nice book with good clear instructions and a helpful guide on what fabrics to use, As the Arc copy of the book was only a sample I can only include comments on the couple of quilts that I saw which is disapointing, That said they were nice designs with good pictures and easy to follow instructions ideal for the beginner or for someone with more experience.

This was one of the better Oscar nominated films that came out last year. Casey Affleck did do a good job with the role, and he was completely believable. The trailer did not let on how depressing the story line was, but I was glad that I saw it. Michelle Williams isn't really great in this, but I'm not a fan of hers at all.

Watching a film where you don’t really know the actors as they act out this piece of drama for me made me feel more real. I didn’t see them as actors; I only saw them as people in a real life biopic, that for me is key

Kasey Davis (30 KP) rated The Jewel (The Lone City, #1) in Books
May 12, 2018
Upon first glance I assumed it was just another take on the post-apocalyptic world. It's not even close to that. It's full of mystery and romance. I was hooked right away. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. And the plot twist ending was not one I saw coming at all. Books like this is why I continue to read YA.

Fresh take on a classic
When I heard this was being made and saw the trailer, I thought, no thanks that looks rubbish. However, I watched it and I loved it. Charlie Hunnams acting was strong and powerful. Although I found Jude Laws character very weak. I actually found myself liking the urban take on this medieval classic.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Rebel Rising in Books

This young adult novel fills in the blanks about what Jyn was doing for the years involving Saw and her journey to becoming a rebel, like the title suggests. The book had a fairly good pace, and was easy to read. I liked Revis' development of Jyn's character, and I think it was spot on. Overall, a good addition to the new Star Wars Canon.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2412 KP) rated Out of the Darkness (Babylon 5: Legions of Fire, #3) in Books

We circle back to season 3 for the climax of the fight for Centauri Prime. We saw brief flashes of this in season 3, but this book puts a few of them in a completely different light. It's must reading for fans of the TV show.

A cinematic masterpiece of dark dingy intelligence
I love this movie even if it's hard to watch sometimes. I first saw it in the theater still drunk from the night before and my mind was blown in a very unforgettable way. But upon many sober repeated viewings it's still a brilliant film.
