Stunts
Watched last night I've probably played the games a lot in the last two years and now a lot about the backstory of the assassins and the Templars. And watching the movie I saw a lot of the lore from the games in the movie. Anyway to the movie itself I remember needing this when it first came out and was impressed by the stunt work and the locations michel fassbender plays both characters is excellent and So is irons and cortillard. Still can't believe they didn't make a sequel. this movie needed a sequel but thank goodness for the games keeping the franchise alive

Emma @ The Movies (1786 KP) rated Tully (2018) in Movies

A mother of three hires a night nanny to help with her newborn.
Firstly, I'd like to say how impressed I am that the twist of this wasn't spoilt in anything that I saw before going to the film. I was pleasantly (?) surprised by it.
Tully was an interesting film, slightly awkward and quite emotional. It's a fairly niche movie though, and I can't see it appealing to a very large group of people.
I'm struggling to find a lot to say about this one. Definitely not an indication that I didn't like it, as is sometimes the case for my silence. It's just very difficult to sum it up.

Well, let's just say I know why this wasn't released outside of NY and LA here in the USA. I actually debated buying the digital copy or renting it on Amazon. Thank god I didn't. When I saw that Netflix (US), had added it, I immediately planned on watching it today.
It was not good. There was no tension throughout the film, it was boring. The only thing this film did well was to show the madness.
The only thing that made this worth it was watching Sebastian Stan. Of course, he was a creepy d-bag, but he was nice to look at.
Skip the film, just read the book.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Lucy in the Sky in Books

I think if this had been my first Paige Toon book that I would have been interested in reading more of her work but I wouldn't have been in as much of a hurry to do so. It certainly hasn't been my favourite so far.
I thought that despite all the tales James spun in their time together that Lucy might have been a bit more sceptical about his claims.
As for Nathan he seemed like a great guy but I can't say I saw much romance between them initially. He seemed very good at playing it cool.
Off to read the sixth book she's written, One Perfect Summer, now.

Kim Pook (101 KP) rated Good Boys (2019) in Movies

I saw this movie in the cinema with my husband. The first half of the movie is very crude but hilarious, it's not the type of things that you would hear from 12 year olds but everything they said and did was shocking but that's what made it so funny. I liked that they reminded us that they were children as well, like when they were invited to the party they said they'd have to ask their mum and nobody battered an eyelid. The crude humour did die down towards the end but it was still funny. I would definitely recommend it.

Sonofdel (6291 KP) rated Bernard Who? 75 Years of Doing Just About Everything in Books

Wonderful, funny, honest
I have always liked Bernard Cribbins since i saw him in the early carry on films Jack and Spying. He is one of those people that whatever he turns his hand to, he is excellent at. from doing the Carry on Films to singing and dancing (even producing a top ten single). This is a wonderful read and definitely a book i found hard to put down. Its written very well and is laid out in almost chronological order, with some amazing photos too. I just loved it and i would recommend this to anyone. Great read :)

Kim Pook (101 KP) rated Circle (2015) in Movies

Good for a one time only watch
Around 50 people wake up in a deadly game where every 2 minutes they have to vote for who gets to die next. That is literally it! When I read about the movie, I was expecting it to similar to saw, gore and everything but I was wrong. The entire movie is just everyone in a room trying to work out a plan of survival by eliminating others. It was OK for a one time watch, I kept watching as i was interested to see how it played out and how it ended but I can't see myself wanting to watch it again.
