Spider-Man (2002)

Rating this for what it was when I first saw it in theaters.

I remember all the build up for this right before it came out and actually seeing it I remember walking out with my mom and brother and we couldn't stop talking about it! We had always been Spiderman fans and the movie really lived up to the hype.

Toby Maguire will always be my favorite Peter Parker he pulled off the nerdy kid so perfect and Kristen Dunst was such a great MJ and let's be real the upside kiss was one of my favorite moments and still is to this day.

It really was a great origin story for such an amazing character... Now I really want to rewatch it.

Machete (2010)
Machete (2010)
2010 | Action, Mystery
Cheesy like a Quesadilla... And just as good.
When I first saw the trailer for Machete I was freaking pumped I adore Danny Trejo and when I found out the movie was going to be a B rated action movie with Hispanic my Latina heart almost bursted out of my damn chest!

And you know what I got everything I wanted from Machete it was cheesy and raunchy and oh so good! Plus Michelle Rodriguez with an eye patch killing people sign me the hell up!

The plot was fun and on the right side of ridiculous, the cast was great, and it had the right amount of action. Over all just a good time if you remember it's supposed to be over the too.

Surprisingly addictive
I saw it advetised on netflix and thought OMG really..... and pased it by. Then one night I was looking for something to watch and thought I'd check it out for a laugh. If you like cartoons, its actually pretty decent. I remember the original and this is not quite the same. I like the backstory with Catra and Adora. (I always had a soft spot for Catra when I was little) Adora reminds me of everything I liked about the character of Captain Marvel, both are very similar.
I have to say I really enjoyed it and laughed out loud in places. I ran out of episodes last night and im not happy haha.

Jurassic Park (1993)
Jurassic Park (1993)
1993 | Adventure, Sci-Fi
The perfect Blockbuster?
To make this clear, Jurassic Park is easily in my top 10 films of all time.
I saw it when I was young - maybe 7 or 8 years old, not too long after it came out, so one might argue that there is an element of nostalgia reflected in my opinion, but honestly, no matter how many times I see it, I never tire of it, and all these years later, the effects still stand up, which is an incredible achievement considering it came out in 1993!

The whole cast are just great, the script is solid, and the score is an all time classic - John Williams smashing it out of the park again.

An all time classic.

As Jamie Grimm prepares for the regionals in the Planet's Funniest Kid Contest, he must continue to deal with typical middle school problems like figuring out girls and relationships, his friend's problems, and tutoring his cousin who also happens to be the class bully.

I enjoyed this book more than the first in the series, possibly because I saw the more slice of life nature of the book. Some stories start and end early while others for running threads that last longer. Holding it all together is the comic contest. The fun illustrations help make this book a very fast read.

Peter Rabbit (2018)
Peter Rabbit (2018)
2018 | Animation
Disclaimer: I saw this movie on accident. I went to see Early Man, but the projectionist put the wrong movie in, then left. So, no one was able to change it over. Now, I just get to see Early Man for free tonight.
So, this movie is based solely on the illustrations of Peter Rabbit and his various friends from Beatrix Potter's children's books. The movie was amusing, and I laughed at it, as an adult, so I figure that's fairly impressive. The voice acting for all of the animals was great. I did think the difference in age between Rose Byrne and Domhnall Gleeson was a little off, I know there's only a 4 year difference, but it was just a little weird.

Dashiell Gibson is one of the first people living on the Moon colony, and he’s found life for the kids to be rather boring. All that changes when one of the residents is found dead outside the base. While everyone thinks it was an accident, Dash is certain it was murder. But can he prove it?

This is a great combination of mystery and science fiction. The setting is realistically done and really adds to the story. The target middle grade audience will love the characters and the humor. Personally, I never saw the ending coming. I can’t wait for the sequel.

So, I liked this book. I think the world this takes place in was vivid, you were able to really see and feel what the author wanted to show you. I actually really like the characters, too. However, it was a little predictable. I kept thinking this is going to happen or this character is not who they seem, and then I’d be proved right. There were still twists because I couldn’t predict exactly what was going to happen, but I saw pieces of it before I was supposed to. I give it a solid 8 because it was interesting and there a lot of really likeable things about this book.

The A-Team (2010)
The A-Team (2010)
2010 | Action
I have to say I expected the worst from this but was pleasantly surprised and pleased by the time the credits rolled. I saw most of the TV series as a young boy and this film does keep a lot true to the original TV series. Just given a modern update and treated like a modern day action film with big stunts and over the top action plans only the A Team could do. At times it felt like a mix of the Bourne Trilogy crossed with Ocean's 11 elaborate missions! There is plenty of humour and it doesn't take itself seriously, pity the critics who just didn't get it, fool's!! A pure popcorn action blast everyone in the right frame of mind should enjoy.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

When I saw this graphic novel I knew that I just had to read it. Beauty and the Beast is and will always be my favorite Disney story. With all of that said, I will admit I was a little disappointed. I felt like it was a complete copy of the new movie with no new motivations attributed to the characters. I would have loved to have had the inside perspective of Belle and unfortunately this book did not give me that.

The artwork was well done but not awe inspiring. Ultimately, it was a very quick and pleasant read but I do not feel the need to read the next one.
