"I discovered Sam Fuller’s films when I was twenty, after seeing The Typewriter, the Rifle & the Movie Camera on IFC. I love how tough and authentic this movie feels. Gene Evans is so scary. The way he eats that cantaloupe and says “That man’s nothing but a corpse. Nobody cares who he is now,” is truly frightening."

Killing Eve

"This TV show just knocked my socks off with its assured funny/scary tone, its welcome eccentricity, and its mind-blowing cast. When actors as compulsively watchable as Sandra Oh and Fiona Shaw take an almost backseat to an actor I’d never even heard of before named Jodie Comer, you know you’re in for something special. Just watch it"

"The dark lord of midnight movies. Lynch films are scary in a way that modern horror films seldom are. He talks directly to my inner child, to the nightmares of my seven-year-old self. It’s a singular cinematic experience. I remember watching this whenever it was on in London—Eraserhead and Blue Velvet . . . double bills . . . mmm."

"OK, Twin Peaks, which isn’t a film, but a TV series. Again, I watched that as a kid, and I just thought it was so weird and wonderful and scary. I just didn’t get it, but I loved the music. It was so, sort of, haunting. I’m putting everything from literally the age of eight to about 12."

A little different if predictable
Average B Movie
A reasonable low budget offering. Nothing scary, more tongue in cheek Horror. The plot is OK if a bit silly and predictable. A few familiar faces make it ok for a watch for Horror fans. Although I'm not sure you'll summon the will to watch it more than once.

Scary
A great little Spanish horror film that has a realism about it you just don't get in many horror films. This did so well the Western remake was done just a few months later and also got good reviews @Quarantine (2008) . It's very short at 70mins but brutal and shocking after a slow opening. Filmed from the point of view of a local TV camera man, it's a found footage film like Blairwitch and Cloverfield, making a documentary about the local fire service. They go out on a call to a local apartment block, beginning a series of shocking events.
There are 2 sequels that are worth checking out and a sequel to the American version as well.

Snooze fest
I decided to watch this film because i enjoy horrors and the trailer made it look good. However i watched an hour of it then has to turn it off as it was extremely boring and slow paced. I did go back to it the next day to finish it as i wanted to know how it ended. I hoped it would pick up and be scary but sadly it wasnt. There where bits that seemed like they were supposed to be scary but they just weren't. The story seemed interesting but it left a lot of questions and didnt explain what was going on. As its based on a book i feel like the book may be better. However i havent read the book.

"I typically don’t like Western-type movies that much, but Red Hill. I really enjoyed that. I’m very picky about the bad guy, and whether or not he looks intimidating to me, you know? Like, I saw the I Spit on Your Grave remake, and all of the bad guys looked like soap opera actors that let their stubble grow. They didn’t have the aura of being a badass. And I’m sorry to those actors. They’re probably going to ****ing hate me, but this didn’t come across as intimidating or scary or anything, or even convincing as criminals, whereas this guy in Red Hill was the best bad guy I’ve seen in a long time. Just when he would look, he would look scary as ****. I love a bad guy that really convinces me."
