Terrific format of mixed bag "true" stories
I really do enjoy this podcast. I find the length of each story perfect and I enjoy that they are told from the people who experienced it (which lends an aire of legitimacy). I have a sneaking suspicion that some are more true than others. Also some are not nearly as scary or entertaining but that's ok because the story lenghts are manageable.

Ok, but far from groundbreaking.
After watching the first Insidious (which was reasonably enjoyable), I found myself wanting to see the second, but was disappointed with what I saw.

Chapter Two was basically the same as chapter one, not particularly scary, and relying heavily on jump scares. Jump scares are fun, but not when it's the only scare the film provides.

"No movie is funnier or more scary. Kubrick somehow ramps up both the very real stakes and the increasingly weird humor throughout the movie. Most of the praise usually lands on Peter Sellers’s multiple performances, but don’t sleep on George c. Scott. The man who played the ultimate military authority in Patton plays the ultimate military buffoon. Fun fact: this movie has the longest title in film history."

This little book had 3 stories: The Yellow Wall-Paper, The Rocking Chair, Old Water. They are all very different, but scary nevertheless. I didn’t get time to get used to the characters, because the stories are very short, but I did like their personas. The first two stories had a very strong ghost element to it, the third one had a very strong punch at the end.

Finally got round to seeing the second one at last as I had the other three insidious movies is it any good it’s ok Patrick Wilson as Carl steals for me as we different side of him after what happened to him at the end of the first movie a more scary version which I liked not as good as the first but better than the two sequels

They went looking for a story. What they found was a nightmare.
It started as nothing, just a scary story passed around between schoolchildren. But for Sadie and her friends, the rumours soon became an unhealthy obsession - and the darkness all too real.
Years later, Sadie's teenage daughter Amber has been charged with murder, and her trial shocks the world. How could such a young girl commit such a terrible crime?
It seems the secrets of Sadie's past have come back to haunt her daughter. And the terrifying truth of what happened all those years ago is finally about to come out . . .

The heart of the novel is the urban legend about the Tall Man who comes from the shadows to take daughters away.
There are three timelines: 1990 where three young girls make a pact with a scary man who loves in the woods, 2000 where a young, new mother disappears leaving behind her baby daughter and confused partner and 2018 where a teenage girl adjusts to life with her mother back in her life. The thing that connects them all is the scary man who lives in the woods.

This is a novel about what lurks in the shadows, and what are shadows if not shades of grey?
I thought this was a brilliant thriller.
Gripping with great characters and psychological suspense.
Recommend reading.

The friendships, the movie was creepy and disturbing. The way Pennywise moved and spoke. Felt very Stranger Things inspired. (0 more)
Wasn't as scary as I thought it would have been. (0 more)
I didn't want it to end
I love Horror so I was really excited for this to come out. I didn'y really know what to expect as I haven't watched the original 'IT' yet, or read the book by Stephen King, but I knew the basics of what this movie was about.
I loved the way this film makes you feel and the style of it, it's not like all other horror movies out there. There is a bit of a Stranger Things vibe to it, which I loved.
I absolutely adored Pennywise in this remake, I loved the way he moved his body, it added to the creepyness of the film.
I found it more creepy and a bit disturbing than I did scary, there was one jump scare that got me though.
