"I don’t really read Stephen King—I just can’t read scary things because it stays with me too long—but I truly liked his memoir of the craft of writing. It’s the most accurate depiction of what writing is like and it’s not necessarily glamorous the way we’ve seen it on “Sex and the City,” where you sit down and bang out an article in 30 minutes. He’s good at mining his personal life and letting that inspire his creativity. That’s the ideal way to go about writing, to be informed by your life and use it in a way that can entertain other people."

Not AHS but watchable.

So it wasn't American Horror Story, but it was still in the ballpark. Grusome, gory and glorious. Where AHS was at times, scary or possibly jumpy, Ratched was more, do I feel bad for these deranged orphans or not? The answer is. No. You don't. She's a psychopath who seems to gets off on pain but disguises it as health care, and he is a literal killer, who despite his good looks, is the devil incarnate. This is by no means a bad thing. I actually really enjoyed it. Especially the backstories and seeing the different illnesses be 'cured. Very good, would recommend to fans of AHS.

"Jaws was the first scary movie I ever saw. Even though I did hate it and it made me scared of sharks, it stuck with me. Every time it’s on, I do have to watch it. Especially now that you know the behind the scenes stuff. The shark didn’t work. So then it became a creative choice to just not show the shark until two-thirds in. It was freezing cold and these people had to be in the ocean. Then, the ocean was freezing so these people were freezing cold and raining and all of that kind of stuff. It just made it more movie magic for me."

"I remember this movie winning everything right around the time I was starting to pay attention to film. Seeing it as a little kid, I thought it was scary and thrilling and very “adult.” Now that I’m an actual adult, I find that the film remarkably hasn’t aged at all, and that there are new things to appreciate each time I return to it. The filmmaking is so masterful it’s become a kind of blueprint, and the way Demme is able to use his craft to transform the pulpy, lurid material at the core of the film into something so serious and artful is really incredible"

"Directed by the Danish master Carl Theodor Dreyer, Ordet is yet another film made in 1955 to which I’m deeply indebted. There is a stunning scene of literal resurrection that inspired my own visual approach to The Exorcist and gave me the courage to stage a supernatural event as if it were actually happening, without scary lighting or weird angles. Like many of Dreyer’s other films, including Vampyr and The Passion of Joan of Arc, Ordet is based on literary source material (in this case, a play). But all his films are deeply spiritual in their examinations of the mystery of faith, and purely cinematic."

Funny Horror
An ok Horror with a comedy slant. Featuring a nice cameo from Robert Englund. A bunch of serial killers escape an asylum to take over a Horror park based on their murders.
It's funny in places and the gore generally is OK, although very cheap looking in some scenes. Just a bit hit and miss with the comedy and scares a lot of the time. Often somewhere in the middle of not funny or scary enough.
Check out @Hell Fest (2018) on Netflix, similar but slightly better I felt with a cameo from Tony Todd.

Who Are You
The Uninvited- is a erry movie meaning its scary, terrorfying, chilling and spooky.

The Plot: After spending time in a psychiatric facility, young Anna (Emily Browning) finds significant changes in store at home. Her widowed father (David Strathairn) is now engaged to her mother's former nurse, Rachel (Elizabeth Banks). One night, the ghost of Anna's mother appears, screaming for revenge and accusing Rachel of murder. Anna and her sister, Alex (Arielle Kebbel), start to investigate, but they may be unprepared for the lethal battle of wills that ensues.

Both Emily Browning and Elizabeth Banks are excellent in this film.

A good horror film.

Friends 'til the end
Yet another reboot of Child's Play. I'm not sure we need another Chucky film to be honest but at least this had some new ideas. Set present day the Buddi doll can interact with a mobile app and other smart devices. This at least does allow for some fun plot elements and variety in kills. So it does differ in some ways from the original. The biggest problem is the look of Chucky. Not cute enough to be believable as a toy and not creepy enough to be scary. It's not bad as a Slasher film but nothing particularly memorable.

This remake of the 1989 version, changed a lot from the oringal version.

Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discover a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbour Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.

Instead of the son dying, now its their daugther who dies. The ending is soo scary, the cast is great. Overall its a great remake to a already great oringal fim.

Not scary at all for a horror film.
Was looking forward to finally watching this but was left disappointed somewhat by it.

First of all this ain't no horror film, its a thriller with some odd looking creatures in it and secondly how did this family survive whatever apocalypse happen to come along and wipe out humanity.A little bit of a backstory would have helped.

I didn't find the creatures that frightening or intimidating, how could they rip through a metal grain silo but not in the car when the kids happened to be inside it.Hopefully the sequel will be an improvement
