Sometimes dead is better
I just about remember reading the book a very long time ago and it did stay with me for a long time. A typical chilling horror from Stephen King. I've not seen the '89 film but the trailer for this had me interested.
It's good, very atmospheric, interesting story and a decent cast. The only down side was the climax didn't feel as scary as I remember from the book and a tad abrupt. They have changed a couple of plot points from the book, one is quite a big change. Although I can understand why. But the ending is different and doesn't quite have the impact of the book. Despite that it's still an enjoyable film if you are a Stephen King fan.

This game has a surprisingly good story, which isnt told to you straight forward, you have to search for clues within the game to find answers. The animatronics are well designed and can be fairly terrifying. The game itself is pretty scary and mildly stressful, between managing the batteries for the camera and doors, and still keeping an eye on the animatronics to ensure they dont come into your office and get you. You cannot move or leave your office, which creates a feeling of being trapped. You cannot fight the animatronics and your only means of defence is a pair of doors that you close to keep them out, which creates a feeling of helplessness. All in all a very spooky game. If you like horror games with micromanaging, this may be for you.

Two-dozen short stories connected (in varying degrees) to Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, highlighting Lumley's personal take on this particular milieu - he's an enthusiastic pasticheur, but much better at replicating Lovecraft's style than his substance. (He also has a go at being Robert E Howard in a couple of these stories.)

A really mixed bag, all told: there are a handful of very good stories, like the one the book is named for, and a few others contain promising imagery or moments (an oil rig drills down into something it shouldn't; Lovecraft scholars should be able to guess what), but many others become repetitive and slightly tedious. If nothing else the stories here illustrate that, bereft of the philosophy underpinning Lovecraft's own work, the Mythos trappings just become a selection of campy props and costumes that aren't particularly scary.

At some point, while watching any episode of a TV show like Buffy or a scary movie, you know that you have spoken to the characters on the screen, despite the fact that they can't hear you. "Don't split up! That's when he'll get you!" or "NO! No sex! The ones who have sex DIE you idiots!" And you've wondered how it is NONE of the characters have ever SEEN a horror movie in their lives, right?

Well, Kitty and friends find themselves in the middle of a snuff film being made by people who hate were-beings/vampires/psychics/etc. Kitty, at least, is smarter than your average scream queen. What ensures isn't exactly hilarity, but this being a Kitty Norville book there are a few bright spots here and there (although far fewer than usual).

I was lucky enough to get a free copy of the book from the goodreads giveaway, the description of the book intrigued me as I enjoy books based on true stories. Kitty and Gordon move into their new home in medbury Devon, when after a few days strange things start occurring in the house. Hannah beamish is a legendary witch in Devon and everyone thinks they know what become of her! Or do they?. The story goes back and forth from the 1800's to nowadays. The story written in italics is the story of what happened to Hannah beamish with the 2 stories coming together at the end.
I very much enjoyed this book, it becomes very dark and quite scary at some points, which I am frightened for kitty. I would recommend this book who into ghosts/witchcraft/true events.

It was talked about so much, it ruined it. (0 more)
The hype ruined it for me
So I'm not a scary film fan in the slightest so I had to be assured this wouldn't make me jump (LOL). I did enjoy it found it was clever, but because of all the hype I already knew certain things were going to happen so that sucked a bit.
It's made brilliantly, it's so tense you cannot relax the entire film. It cannot have been easy to act blindfolded, not knowing your mark and where people are etc but once again, Sandra B nails it.
If I had stumbled onto it without hearing anything about it I think I would have found it a lot more enjoyable as I'd heard of so many key moments online etc..

A Good Film
Whilst I don't think this is as dark or delves as much into human psyche and the fight for survival as the original book by Richard Matheson does, I do think that this is a very good film.

Will Smith plays an emotive, believable role. I particularly liked the interaction he has with Sam, his dog. This has a lot of emotional moments, and a few jump scares too

The only negatives I could comment on about this film, are firstly, I didn't like the C.G.I 'infected'. They looked too fake to be scary. Also, I thought the ending to this film was a bit rushed.

Whilst there are some changes from the book, I do think that this is a really good film adaptation

Seven Days
The Ring- is one of those horror remakes that is actually really good and underrated.

The plot: Description It sounds like just another urban legend -- a videotape filled with nightmarish images leads to a phone call foretelling the viewer's death in exactly seven days. Newspaper reporter Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) is skeptical of the story until four teenagers all die mysteriously exactly one week after watching just such a tape. Allowing her investigative curiosity to get the better of her, Rachel tracks down the video and watches it. Now she has just seven days to unravel the mystery.

VHS were popular back in 2002, but when rings: the third movie came out in 2016 their still thought VHS were popular but nope.

Anyways this movie is scary, terrorfying, horrorfying, spooky, suspeseful, thrilling and more.

A highly reccordmend movie.

The Cross
So i watched this movie once, and i wasnt sure what to think about it, im not sure it was to be horrorfying or scary or terrorfying, cause it wasnt. Like i said in my "End of Days" review i fell bad for Gabriel Bryne, cause he is a great actor but he is so underrated.

The plot: A young woman with no strong religious beliefs, Frankie Paige (Patricia Arquette) begins having strange and violent experiences, showing signs of the wounds that Jesus received when crucified. When the Vatican gets word of Frankie's situation, a high-ranking cardinal (Jonathan Pryce) requests that the Rev. Andrew Kiernan (Gabriel Byrne) investigate her case. Soon Kiernan realizes that very sinister forces are at work, and tries to rescue Frankie from the entity that is plaguing her.

Its a okay movie, not the greatest.

Dont Let The Bed Bugs Bite.
This is such a underrated horror jem. It will make you more afarid of bugs. Bugs are scary, bugs are terrorfying, bugs are horrorfying and this movie will make you afarid of bugs. Those bed bugs though, those bed begs are nasty.

Both Ashley Judd and Micharl Shannon do a excellent job in this movie.

The Plot: At a rundown desert motel, Agnes (Ashley Judd) begins a tentative relationship with a newcomer named Peter (Michael Shannon). He has a strange charisma, one that offers fearful and unstable Agnes a flicker of hope. When Peter reveals that the military deliberately infected him with a bug and that he has tiny insects crawling under his skin, paranoia begins to envelop the desperate pair.

Paranoia, suspense, creepy, terrorfying and overall a underratee horror jem.
