I got way too emo reading this book
Did I read the final story about everyone reminiscing before the Ascensions the night before my own high school graduation? I might have. These stories came with me through some of the strangest and darkest years of my life (*cough* high school *cough*), and this book felt like a perfect way to tie up the couple of loose ends left by City of Heavenly Fire.

This was an interesting read that kept me guessing the entire time. I give Thomas points for its twistiness, as it was an engrossing read. These were some very complicated high school kids. I couldn't help but think that that Kacey was a little too involved in wanting to find her friend and that the high school drama seemed incredibly intense, even for the purposes of a novel. Maybe I'm just naive, but these girls were in deep. There is nothing quite so dark, at times, as the friendship of teenage girls.

Overall, I enjoyed trying to piece things together in this story, even if some of the overly dramatic parts turned me off a bit.

Nabari No Ou is a manga series about a middle school-aged boy that finds out that he holds a very sought-after secret power of a hidden ninja realm. While the book does contain some bloody and violent scenes, it also provides a look at school life, and plenty of humor. It's serious with a humorous overtone. The art is cute, and the book is pretty quick to read. However, you'll want to spend a little time studying the action in some of the drawings so that you don't miss what's going on. I wasn't sure what to expect from this manga, but I've been pleasantly surprised! It's definitely worth a read.

With wellbeing and mindfulness being at the forefront of everyone's mind, I thought this would be a great read to start with. I work in a school so I request this book to see if it would suitable for our library. However I was quite disappointed. The books is broken down into sections but each section seemed to focus mainly on breathing and this became repetitive and tedious to read. Considering that there is a big push in mindfulness and wellbeing in most establishments I feel like a book aimed at students should be more in-depth as they would have had a lot of focus within school already, breathing being the most basic.
