Creepy feel (1 more)
Great creature design
You'll be afraid of the dark
Simple and effective Horror, the story might seem basic but it works well. It has some good set piece scenes and an overall creepy feel to the film. The character development is good helped by a good cast. Worth checking out for old school horror fans and newcomers alike, just leave the light on!

I'm really confused as to why this movie was even made. The CGI was bad, the accents were all over the place, and the costumes looked like they were from a middle school play. Every time Jesus was on screen, all I could think about was Xerxes from 300. The 2 is only because Jack Huston and Toby Kebbell are nice to look at.

I truly enjoyed this story and was glad it was a story that got told. I remember reading it in high school, and I think we had just finished discussing The Holocaust history so everything was fresh in my mind. I liked that we got a different point of view for this type of story and that it was told from a young girl's perspective.

A slow paced story set in the 80s about a girl growing into herself and life during her high school senior year. Everyone has secrets but it seems drawn out in finding out and not affecting anyone else in a way it might.
I enjoyed the story but it was kind of slow and I felt like we missed out on everyone else with only one perspective.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated Still Life (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #1) in Books

The death of a retired school teacher shocks the community of Three Pines. But was it an accident or murder? It took me quite a while to sort out the characters. Once I did, I really got hooked on them and the story.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2196 KP) rated Sidekicks in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When a superhero decides to get a new sidekick, his pets want in on the act. And that's not quite as bad an idea as it sounds.
This graphic novel is fun, and middle school students will enjoy it. Heck, I enjoyed it, and I'm an adult.

Dana (24 KP) rated Still Alive: A Holocaust Girlhood Remembered in Books
Mar 23, 2018
This was beautifully written by Ruth Kluger. Her story is not one that is widely liked because she does not want the reader to be sentimental or feel sorry for her. She wants the reader to understand what happened in a logical fashion. I loved this book.
I luckily got to meet Ruth Kluger at a book signing at my school. She is a very interesting woman.

It feels as if they didn't know what kind of movie they wanted to make. The film was unfocused and all over the place. Not completely a high school movie, not completely an origin, not completely a teenage romance...It was a little bit of 4 or 5 different movies, none of it blending well. Also entirely too silly.
