Dana (24 KP) rated Still Alive: A Holocaust Girlhood Remembered in Books
Mar 23, 2018
This was beautifully written by Ruth Kluger. Her story is not one that is widely liked because she does not want the reader to be sentimental or feel sorry for her. She wants the reader to understand what happened in a logical fashion. I loved this book.
I luckily got to meet Ruth Kluger at a book signing at my school. She is a very interesting woman.

Lschouder (0 KP) rated Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) in Movies

It feels as if they didn't know what kind of movie they wanted to make. The film was unfocused and all over the place. Not completely a high school movie, not completely an origin, not completely a teenage romance...It was a little bit of 4 or 5 different movies, none of it blending well. Also entirely too silly.

I didn’t get into this book as quickly as the others. There was a bit too much time spent on high school drama. But then it got good, unraveling mysteries and getting caught up in capers. That’s what I’m here for. It wasn’t as silly as the others but the serious subjects really needed some gravity. A good wrap up and I’m glad it didn’t end tragically.

Great Romantic Comedy
This is a really good Netflix movie. The premise is unique, and Lara Jean is an awesome main character. She handles everything really well, and stands up for herself when needed.
The humur is great, but not forced. It fits in perfectly with the high school back drop. That mixed with a sweet love story makes this movie a new girls night favorite.

Question
My roommate and I are fans of the old school Universal Monsters so we were thrilled to find Ravensburger Horrified: Universal Monsters Strategy Game. We are anxiously awaiting shipment of the game and are curious to know if anyone else has played it and what they think of it. If you've played it, please share your experience with me. I'm looking forward to playing it!

AT (1676 KP) rated Erased, Vol. 3 in Books
Jul 27, 2019
Even though I was looking forward to starting volume 3 of Erased, I was wondering how the story would evolve since I predicted that it would be more of the story during the kids' elementary school time. I was prepared for more repetition. However, the story did take some very interesting turns, pushing the story miles ahead. I'm really enjoying how the author has crafted this story!
James Koppert (2698 KP) rated Won by As Friends Rust in Music
Nov 8, 2019
Exceptional album
As Friends Rust were already good, then this came out and they became legends. They seemingly took fast old school hardcore punk with pop sensabilities in a Day Nasty style but only sounding like As Friends Rust.
Damien's gravel voice goes from growl to crooned while the music rages on. This is hardcore meeting indie without ever being post hardcore. It's just perfect

AT (1676 KP) rated Dora and the Lost City of Gold (2019) in Movies
Nov 22, 2019
Just as dorky as you'd expect it to be! However, if you had a kid that used to watch Dora the Explorer as a toddler, the movie was pretty funny and full of good fun all the way through. Putting Dora in a mainstream high school was hilarious! I enjoyed Dora and the Lost City of Gold a lot more than I was expecting to.
