What happened Stephen King?
Contains spoilers, click to show
When you think of Stephen King you think of Horror, Pennywise, Salems Lot, Creepshow etc etc.
Not when you watch this. The plot just seems so out of touch for Stephen King. Not his 'norm' at all. Maybe a good thing?

The plot? ODD.
At first I thought I was watching a young, pregnant couple. No, brother and sister. They seem too "involved" to be anything but romantic partners.
Then theres the strange, out of the blue characters (that do not blend in with the storyline), you meet along the way.
You will scream at the ending, all that for nothing.

I really wanted to like this book. I'm a fan of Lisa Scottoline, and she endeared herself to me even more with her latest memoir. Besides, I won this book from one of the goodreads giveaways.

But I just couldn't get in to this one. There was something whiny, irritating and off about the main character, and I just couldn't empathize fully with her. The plot was more absurd than believable -- is this a heartfelt story; a mystery; what? It was too much.

And If I had to read the phrase, "Rose hit the gas" one more time, I was going to scream.

Lots of good in this book, but it just never seemed to redeem the bad.

I remember watching this at the pictures when it first came out.it is well written some great actors in brad Pitt and Morgon Freeman.
I don't think I've ever watched it again and that's mainly because it really pulled me into the plot the first time. It was a great thriller/ horror and had more than a couple jumpy moments the part with the man in the bed with the air freshners is the only bit in a film that has ever made me scream outload.
This is not an easy watch there are a few times it is uncomfortable and you want to look away but films like that are usually the best films.

A very good Slasher series
I finally got round to seeing this series. I'm a big fan of Scream so it's interesting to see how this compares. It's very good and feels like the film in many ways. Wes Craven was an executive producer, so that probably helped.
Self aware as always and even mentions the difficulty of doing a slasher series. It maintains momentum quite well. There are plenty of twists and red herrings as to who the killer is. Maybe could have been a couple of episodes shorter. Overall though if you are a fan of the film you should enjoy this.

Jacob Anderson, Jessica Barden, Duane Henry, Callum Macnab, Sophie Stuckey, Adam Deacon & Jeff Bell star as 6 friends who agree to setup an aerial on the roof of an abandoned tower block In exchange for free drugs & cash.
After Breaking into the building & completing the Job, they begin an excessive night of drugs, booze and Tunes.
Unfortunately for them, the Tower block isn't as empty as they thought, as they quickly realise that this is someone's home and trespassers will be killed....

A perfectly dark & serious tone, with a Saw meets Scream feel that definitely is one you'll happily rewatch.

A murder mystery that will leave you dying of laughter!
Even though this film was made in the early 80's, the combine comedic talents of Don Knotts and Tim Conway make this movie a must see. "This is a companion portrait of the existential man of The Fire Within, but it is the obverse—men facing their end not by the personal choice of suicide but by literally being blown to bits. Beginning in a slow, sleepy town (an extended sequence that was once severely trimmed), it tracks men who are moving toward death on a literal and metaphorical road but whose ability to face the void ahead of them is Camus-like in its indomitability. Screwed down as tightly as a pipe bomb, this Clouzot film threatens to blow up in front of you at every turn. You want to scream as you reach to grab the truck’s steering wheel."

"In space, no-one can hear you scream ..."

Spin-off from Aliens in which I kinda get the impression they were released before Ali3n - definitely before Resurrection - as they're very much modeled on Aliens (that's the second one: the one with the 'S'). While, for spin-off novels, they're actually not that bad, they're also not going to win any awards for literature, or set the world on fire!

(edit: a little bit of background research shows exactly that: that the story was written after Aliens, but before Alien3: indeed, the release of that later movie necessitated some changes being made in how this was planned, replacing Newt with Billie andHicks with Wilks)

Just what DC needed
Contains spoilers, click to show
I myself am a huge DC fan boy and over the past couple of years I have seen ups and downs with DC. Finally after Wonder Woman and Aquaman, DC has started to get back into the grove. I have always wanted DC films to be dark and gruesome but Shazam is something of a charmer. It's funny fresh and doesn't try to hard to be something it's not. The characters are brilliant and the Easter eggs throughout the film are brilliant and would make any DC fan scream with delight. It's a great story of an orphan child and the difficulties faced but seeing what a true hero can be is great to see!

Hmmm... How many times can a book say the C word... I am not a prude but using the C word over 10 times in a chapter is just...different.

I thought that the basic consept of this novel was interesting. This was a quick read. The characters were interesting yet unrealistic. The main girl character made me want to scream half the time. The sex was a little too much, most of the time I had to just turn my brain off and try not to think that it was sexually assault. I understand that at the moments of passion the brain turns off and they are animalistic but seriously, it read like a woman's wet dream and not like a thought out novel.
