where to even begin with this. I had high hopes for this one and was expecting to love it but I didn't think I was going to FEEL it this much. I truly am a shell of a person now. This is such an easy five star for me because not only was it filled with beautiful prose (which I love) it also had so much heart and really struck my heart especially. There were so many times I had to set the book down and scream. I felt so seen in Henry's narrative, while I've never been in as low a place as he was the desire to just be loved stemming from always feeling like you are never enough and never the first choice is something that I really struggle with a lot. I cried a lot, it was intense. Everything was just woven together so well and when all the revelations came out and I finally pieced everything together I was so shook (I'm always a little slow with plot twists okay). I haven't felt like this from a novel in a long time.

There are a whole bunch of reasons to love this sequel to one of the most iconic horrors of all time.
From the get go, it deserves respect for trying something different. It doesn't just rinse and repeat the events of the original, with the whole possession plot being an inspired direction to take.
Mark Patton as lead character Jesse is an absolute riot to watch. He will go from suave ladies man, to high pitched screaming and sweaty scream queen in an instant. The homo-erotic undertones are hilariously brilliant, and make for a breath of fresh air in a genre, from an era, that was usually awash in a sea of boobs.
The supporting characters are all pretty likable as well, giving the audience an entertaining cast to watch when the big bad isn't on screen. Talking of which, Robert Englund's Freddy Krueger is pretty damn intimidating in this one, and is the subject of some all timer shots for the franchise.
The practical effects, especially in Jesse's transformation scene are quite something as well.

All in all, Freddy's Revenge is an over the top and enjoyable sequel and deserves more love than it gets!

"I also love the movie Moonstruck. I just think, again, it’s so brilliantly performed. I think Moonstruck and Tootsie are perfect movies. Like, I can’t find a flaw in them, and I’ve watched them countless times. I just think that they are perfect films. And in Moonstruck, what they’re dealing with is death, and loneliness, and loving the wrong person, and a family tie, and infidelity. And yet, it’s the most charming, uplifting, happy movie. I mean, the soundtrack, the score. There’s a makeover in it. I mean, come on, I love a makeover. And again, you have New York, you have Brooklyn, you have this wonderful city. You have this culture of this Italian family. It’s just wonderful. And Nicolas Cage gives the most insane performance I’ve ever seen. When he is screaming about his hand in the bakery, I’m like, “What is that? Who does it that way?” Nobody would do that. Only Nicolas Cage would just scream at the top of his lungs, like, “I lost my hand! I lost my bride!” I marvel at the balls, and that performance just wrecked me. Then her, of course, smacking him — we’ll never forget it."
