There's one of the later Sharpe books, where Cornwell has Harper (basically) say something along the lines of:

"Me? I went through the whole war with hardly a scratch. Major Sharpe, though, he's a different matter: he's always getting himself wounded"

This is the tale with the most sever of those wounds, when Sharpe is severely wounded by the French Colonel Leroux (who is on the hunt for Wellingtons spymaster) and is himself near death for a bit.

It's Sharpe though.

The one time that Sean Bean doesn't die!

Good remake
This is a brilliant if simple thriller/horror film! I was surprised I liked it so much, favours well compared to the original and much better than The Hitcher 2 which no doubt passed many by, just as well. This is very similar to the original with the general plot and "key" scenes still in it. Sophia Bush is great in this and Sean Bean does make a a good viillain. Very violent and bloody to go with it! If you thought this would be a poor comparison to the cult original then I suggest you check it out.

Speak
Dont Say a Word- is a really good suspense thriller.

The plot: Ruthless crook Patrick Koster (Sean Bean) and his partner capture young Jessie Conrad (Skye McCole Bartusiak) and hold her for an unusual ransom. Koster wants Jessie's therapist father, Nathan (Michael Douglas), to somehow coax traumatized teen Elisabeth (Brittany Murphy) into divulging a mysterious code number that will lead the criminals to a hidden jewel worth a fortune. Unfortunately, it may be impossible to convince the delusional Elisabeth to cooperate: she hasn't spoken in 10 years.

Its a really good film, highly recordmend it.

Sharpe's Mission.

This, I believe, is the only Sean Bean led Sharpe made-for-TV movie NOT to be based on a Sharpe novel by Bernard Cornwell, even although it is written well enough that it very well could have been!

As with all of the Sharpe stories, you know pretty much what to expect: Sharpe is sent on a dangerous mission (here, to blow up a French ammunition supply during the closing stages of the Peninsular War), and ends up fighting just as much against those in authority on his own side as against the French ...
