An unnecessary sequel
As with all sequels, this one is pretty unnecessary. Whilst as sequels go it isn’t terrible, it just feels like it’s repeating the same old things over again, and not very well either. This film seems to have upped the ante on the gore and the body count, but it’s nowhere near as scary or creepy. It’s still quite entertaining and funny, it’s just not a patch on the original and the little twist at the end is a lame.
I’m shocked to see how many famous people are in this that I forgot about, namely Jack Black and Milton Dammers himself, Jeffrey Combs. Just a shame they couldn’t make this as good as the original.

Marvel keeps getting better and better can they top them with this movie in my opinion yes they did. Will Thanos complete his master plan???? The makeup for Thanos was a little off putting at first. Chris helmswoth, Chris Evans (with a beard), and Chris Pratt just those three alone how could you go wrong. The cliffhanger left us hanging in a good way but at the same time you go wtf. Preteen or teen Groot whatever you want to go by was a little off putting to me, but as a parent of teens it was like looking in a mirror. Definitely another homerun for marvel. Can't wait until the sequel

Apparently the first in a new series, and (for once) the comparison on the back of the book - which reads something like "in the tradition of Patrick O'Brian and Bernard Cornwell" - is actually pretty accurate!

Having said that, I would've replaced O'Brian reference with CS Forester: some of the events contained in the book have more than a passing resemblance to some of those in the Hornblower novels! The Cornwell reference, though, is pretty much spot on: an outsider officer (naval, in this case) who must contend with both his own immediate superiors as well as the enemy ... sound familiar at all?

Still, I'll be keeping an eye out for the sequel!

Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

I'm writing this in November 2019.

The setting for the original 1982 Blade Runner movie.

The future L.A. of that movie is nothing like the 'current' L.A.

Released over 30 years later to a film that, at the time, was considered a commercial flop (but later gained a cult following), this sequel is visually sumptuous but also rather, shall we say, slow.

This follows a new strain of Blade Runner/bioengineered replicant called Agent K (Ryan Gosling), who stumbles upon a clue to an old case while carrying out a mission: a clue that, eventually, leads him to Rick Deckard (a returning Harrison Ford) and that threatens to unravel the fabric of the society in which he lives.

As a turn of the century romance book fan, it ticks all the boxes. (0 more)
Now I can see a pattern with Dilly Court. The endings are abrupt. (0 more)
Another sweet one, another abrupt end
The endings of Dilly Court's books seem to just end with questions left unanswered. It can be left quite easily (as they have done, annoyingly) however, they have been left in a way they can also have a sequel written without much scrambling. I'm a romantic so these kind of books I love completely, it ticks the boxes I'm looking for and it also had a twist that left me considering not sleeping last night so I could finish it!

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The second book in The Vault of Dreamers starts from the cliffhanger of sorts O’Brien left off with, though I personally think The Vault of Dreamers should've been left alone as a stand-alone. This sequel might be a little disorienting at first, as Rosa is in another body and it takes awhile to figure out what was going on.

A heady laugh
What to say about this? Not as polished as the first? Definitely not. Not as funny? No. However it's a good enough shot at the ever difficult sequel. The rock does a stand up job of being an old geezer. And the rest of the cast play their roles well however it just doesn't have the same... punch as the first (second) Jumanji film. It does show that, at the moment, the Rock can do very little wrong, apart from the horrendous San Andreas. But that's a different story.

Give this film a watch, knowing it's not as good but no where near as bad as it could have been

I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot.

I am Groot,

We are Groot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Initially viewed as one of the riskier entries into mnarvel's (then) expanding cinematic universe starring, as it did, a talking raccoon and a talking tree and taking its inspiration form one of the lesser-known Marvel comics (admit it, who'd heard of them prior to this film? Unlike, say, Captain America?) this proved to be one of its biggest hits and made a star of Chris Pratt (as Peter Quill, aka StarLord), helped - in no small part - by a killer soundtrack, a bit of comedic leanings and - of course - by the brilliant Groot!

Not quite as good as Baby Groot from the sequel, though ...

Disney's school for gifted yougsters
Disney's sky high is a story about a pre-hero teen who is set to attend a school for future hero's & maybe some villains.
a brilliant coming of age story that centres on pride and ambition told in a way only Disney can.
Plenty of fun and live action Disney style sfx make this a great family movie.

Story:Will is the son of The Commander and Jetstream - the world's greatest superheroes, who is struggling with his awkward secret...he hasn't developed any powers, on top of that he is about to begin attending a school for hero's - Sky High.

Making friends and enemies, thing's are about to go bad!

You still can't even come close to the original Jumanji movie, but as a sequel to the modern version, it wasn't as bad as some people claimed it was. It's silly and cheesy, but the characters were in a video game. I thought they did alright for a second round of this movie. Lots of jokes about being old and not really understanding the game situation that they were in, but the jokes made sense for the characters. A lot of the same types of peril situations, but it was the same game that they went back into. Overall, it was still a fun movie to watch, if you enjoyed the first, or the premise of the story.
