I buddy read this book with a friend, blindly picking it up on a shopping trip with no prior knowledge of the author, or wattpad honestly. The story was fun, and a great fast paced thriller for spooky season. The writing style was easy to follow, and everything moved pretty quickly, sometimes too quickly, but I'd rather have that than constant slow pauses. I will say the most heart pounding action for me was in the last chapter or two. Things got really good, really fast, just to end as quickly as it started. The ending feels open to a potential sequel, so maybe we'll see more in the future. Overall, great pace, fun story, and an ending that left me shocked and confused. 🤣

for me this is one hell of an outstanding movie with a very high level of well thought out comedy moments that blends well with the now established cast members.
The story can be a bit wobbly but the set pieces make for a enjoying and adventurous ride even though some may see this as a weaker plot compared to the first film.
As with the first film the choice of soundtrack is inspired and uplifting and adds greatly to and is companion piece to the visuals which are also amazing.
Roll on the sequel, which will be just as much fun and now that Gunn is back at the helm we are assured at the very least to be entertained.

A highly entertaining distraction that continues the story of Grantham Manor seen on PBS. A cast of dozens take turns in the spotlight, but mostly Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, and Allen Leech get the screen time. The King and Queen of Great Britain are visiting the Yorkshire countryside and send word that they will be staying at Downton Abbey. This sends the manor house into a frenzy as preparations must be made and old conflicts get settled. Similar to Gosford Park, Julian Fellowes's earlier film on the happennings of the upstairs, downstairs crowds, a secret affair is revealed in time. A quality waste of time, but some of the plots are settled too quickly and some plots linger so long that a sequel may be written already.

This was a strange one. A lot happens throughout the story but jumps around a lot. Ancient artifacts causing time warps will do that. The acting was pretty decent and the cinematography was well done. There's a few mildly graphic scenes., so probably not for kids. Otherwise this was an interesting watch. It plays to choices made by the characters and the varying outcomes. Patrick Wilson is in this one and, as usual, plays the part of villain quite well. Overall this one keeps the interest to the end(which is a little simplistic compared to the rest of the movie)and wraps it up nicely without the typical Hollywood "leave it open for a sequel" route. Worth a watch!

The second (of, currently, two) of Audible's Arabian Nights series, this is again framed - as the original tales are - as Scheherazade telling her Sultan increasingly fantastical tales so he will not kill her, and so that she will live another night.
This time around, the tales are all of Sinbad the Sailor and his many adventures, although I'm pretty sure that these are told in a different order than they usually, and with a different way of linking each tale rather than Sinbad going back to land, getting bored, and heading off on a new voyage.
You may note I said earlier of, currently, two - this is left open for a sequel: I must admit, also, to be surprised at the rather abrupt ending of the audiobook!
