Some of the William Shatner stuff is funny, apart from that mostly sucks. This is just the same exact movie as the first one almost beat for beat, but worse. Recycles umpteen jokes from the first film, recycles jokes from itself, then recycles jokes that it already recycled from the first film again... time. and. time. again. Take a shot every time this reuses a joke (which mostly consist of bad 'lol sex funny' gags which wouldn't plague American comedic cinema for at least 20 years after this), rips off the first movie, brings in a previous cast member who clearly doesn't want to be there, or says/does something unfunny - you'll be blackout drunk within 15 minutes, tops. Doubly impressive how this manages to be so limp and forgettable considering it's a supposed sequel to one of the most hilarious and memorable movies of all time. Raw cringe.

This had every likelihood of being a great read for me but for some reason I just didn't get into it. I didn't know it was a sequel/part of a series until reading others reviews on here, maybe it doesn't work as a standalone book for me. I felt the first 250 pages were quite boring and drawn out with unnecessary uses of media e.g. maps of where everything was in the town and social media clippings. I found DI Fawley to be unbelievable and dry, I did wonder if the author realised this and manufactured the change in sarge, which is when the pace subsequently picked up. Segments were too short and it was hard to get into the characters. The storyline was clever and well thought out with lots of twists and turns.

I've been wanting to see this for ages, as I had the book as a teenager and loved the prospect of it.
All in all I thought it was a very good film, good acting from the two young leads. And the film does follow the book to a T.
I'm probably glad I didn't see it at cinema however as I don't think I would have paid they're prices and been happy with it. But a good film to watch in the comfort of your own house. My only issue was that to me Hugo Weavings acting felt quite forced, it didn't feel right to me and they could perhaps have cast someone different in his role.
I will be watching it again though. And am a bit upset there isn't a sequel lined up.

Curse of the Sequel Strikes Again!!
So the 1st Lego Movie was a big and very enjoyable surprise to me. I went into it not knowing what to expect and came out with a big grin on my face. So going into the 2nd Lego movie I had high expectations that it just didn't live up to.

There was still some spark but it lacked the same level of fast gagtastic pace. A lot of the gags felt a bit flat and the increase in real-world action didn't enhance the film. I know it's a Lego movie but the story just was all over the place and didn't tie anything together. For what seemed to be a simple story of sibling rivalry there was a lot of new characters; in particular Rex; that I didn't feel hit the right spot.

I was left underwhelmed.
